There was a series on TV called swamp people who would hunt the gators. They had to put subtitles when they spoke because their accent/dialect was really thick. It was very interesting how they hunted them; all legal and following their quotas. My son really loved the series so we used to watch it all the time. I think you are going into swamp people territory.

Maybe! Today I found out the person who captained our swamp boat took a Disney crew around when they were getting inspiration for the movie "The Princess and the Frog". He was the inspiration for Ray the firefly from the movie. And he's absolutely Cajun. We got the stories about gator hunting and a lot of bayou history. It was great.

Sounds like you're living it up in NOLA. I give you tons of credit for not eating like a glutton there, since I would be so tempted.

It's a fun town with a ton of history and culture. Food has always been a huge part of the experience for me, so just trying to find compromises when it comes to how to invest calories for nutrition versus anything else. I really do enjoy a challenge! And I got my oysters and turtle soup tonight, so it's all good! I feel you though...it's hard.

Good morning everyone! Happy mid week, although given we have a weekend of work activities midnight friday, 12 hour shift on Saturday but only 9 hours on friday, it's not feeling very mid week to me.

QOTD - QJB, I will add everyone not just men to your pet peeve; even during our Oscar party we only comment on the clothes, not the bodies underneath them. I will add people that are being creepy but try to pass it off under the guise of humor and people that don't shovel their sidewalks to my list of pet peeves this week.

I have a good day of work ahead, mostly one on ones with my team and some people I mentor so that makes for a good work day; I have to pack for this trip to one of the logistics facilities (I don't want to go so I've been putting off the packing....but clearly packed or not, I have to go) and I have my personal trainer this evening. I need to do one of my boxing workouts today or tomorrow to keep my 44 week streak going.

menu today
