What's on your Tuesday Menu?

It was! Experiences are part of what I really enjoy, so getting some cajun-inspired bites while on an antiquated paddle boat is a great evening in my book. Goof jazz was definitely a bonus.

Thanks for the suggestion! One of the locals we talked to yesterday brought that place up. Apparently Emeril learned to cook there, among other things. We looked it up and they're pretty booked out...maybe next time, though!

Have a great time in New Orleans! It's one of my favorite cities. The music, people, culture, and food is amazing. They have an awesome WWII museum and aquarium too. If you like oysters, check out Luke Happy hour $1 oysters and discounted drinks. It's a John Besh restaurant and a 5 minute walk from the French quarter. If you would like other recommendations for anything, let me know.

Thank you, Matt! I've bookmarked the oyster place. We might be able to stop through. I love oysters. My friend...not so much. Quick stops work, though.
It's funny, I've been here several times now and it's a different type of trip depending on who I'm with. Makes me want to come on my own one time!

I just saw that there's a community type of Mardi gras festival this weekend in Algiers, if you're still going to be there. From what I can tell, it's not a bourbon street style Mardi gras. https://www.neworleans.com/event/algiers-mardi-gras-festival /93415/

Thanks! We head out tomorrow, unfortunately. I think this might be the party we heard about yesterday that was billed as a rated R version of Mardi Gras. We also didn't know that it's kind of a month-long celebration that ramps up leading to fat Tuesday. So yep, you can tell it's the season! It was funny seeing all the beads in the trees from enthusiastic people.
If you have any other dinner suggestions in the quarter (limited mobility) for tonight, bring them on! I've been doing all that research and picking the local's brains. I like local spots more than tourist traps all day long.

Good morning everybody!
I ate too much last night and had to lie down after dinner. Fortunately, I was with friends here who know that happens every now and again. After I felt better, I was able to call Marilyn and read a few chapters.
Today is a long day, program until 4 PM and then two receptions afterwards. I did make it to the gym this morning.
QOTD: I like horse racing, but haven't had time in a couple of years. I have been to casinos a couple of times, but that has been several years as well.
Have a great day, all!
