What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
Happy Friday!!!
JB so happy you and your mom had a good conversation about the anniversary party. It's tough since Covid to find reasonable accommodations and food choices. As you know the cost of food has gone through the roof.
So this Hazardous Material course is a lot harder than I expected. I did get a little ****y after the first 5 lessons because out of 20 questions on the practice test I only got two wrong. Yea those lessons were apparently the easy ones. The next 5 took me 7 tries to get a passing score of 80 to move on to the next round of lessons. But I can do the course both at work and home so that's a good thing.
Not to much planned for the weekend. I did get a bunch of seeds in so I have to sort through them and get things organized to start them for Spring planting. We are going to add more herbs to the garden this year and I think we are going to get some Elderberry plants and wine grape vines. I need more land. LOL
QOTD: Coffee I have with just raw milk and when I drink tea I have it just plain never sugar in anything.
5a coffee with raw milk
B: I'm skipping it today just feel like eating anything yet
L: Egg salad on a half of bagel twist
D: Cauliflower pizza with spinach, mushroom, and pepperoni
Starting the boxing tonight since I finally got the TV set-up downstairs for the video.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good luck on the HazMat course. I remember them being a pain. Can't imagine they're any easier, now.
How exciting to get some seeds! How big is your garden or plot that you're planting? The deer here ate my grapes and blueberries last summer. There was no fruit on either elderberry bush last year but it was their first summer. After the rough weather I'll have to see what survived out of everything.

We have a 50ft by 40ft garden that has a greenhouse frame over it, but it only has netting on it not sure if we will put the plastic on. I also have about 25 large planters that we put stuff in. Then the old horse paddock is getting some pumpkins tossed in this year. There is a peach tree, strawberry plants, mulberries, and blackberries. Each year we add some more items. Not to many critters get our stuff because most of it is covered or fenced in. Plus our German Shepherd does a good job about keeping things out.
I have over 250 garlic planted and will be putting in onions. I freeze dry and dehydrate a lot of stuff for the Winter.
If I remember correctly Elderberry plants take two to three years before you see any fruit.

That's a lot of plants to keep up with! I love hearing about what other people have going on. At some point soon I intend to put in some strategically selected fruit trees a little at a time. We used to have some in New York and I'd like to do them again.
I do remember you mentioning the garlic! Very nice setup. And neat, if my bushes survived I might get a few elderberries this year. Thanks for sharing!

Good Morning! Fri-yay! JB- those pics are so fun! I'm glad the conversation with your mom went better than expected. I am going to the office today and I hope it's a chill day so to speak. John has been having some issues with pain management so I hope his dr will call in something different.

Good morning, everybody!
I didn't comment on Jen's post yesterday because we have a similar meeting today and I am awaiting the outcome. I don't expect it to be "everybody can continue with whatever work schedule pleases them." We will also be discussing some of the things that Jen did not post about. How that affects me, I will see.
My thumb injury is somewhat related to these H.R. topics, because I was thinking about an unpleasant meeting scheduled late morning Monday, instead of thinking about the bar in front of me and I paid the price for it. I should have just walked away when my mind started to drift. Last night we had 36 24 inch box jumps and our trainer said "when you are doing box jumps your whole world needs to be box jumps." So true. I'm not light or young enough to just spring up there, so I need to pay attention or I will have an accident.
We finished the 2022 American Woman in History quarter series last night when I got Anna May Wong in my change at the gas station. It feels like we really scoured around for the first two quarters, but then the last ones seemed to just pop up on their own. The first 2023 quarter, Bessie Coleman, was released on January 3rd. I am not sure whether we have an organizer for 2023, or whether we have to send away to the mint to get one.
This weekend is mainly going to be the items that I thought I would do last weekend, but didn't. Plus go to Costco and get Miralax. I am traveling to Orlando for a meeting Monday through Wednesday, so I need to pack, self COVID test, etc.
We reconfigured a floor in our building yesterday and had a cookie/cocoa reception so that everybody could see the new space. Well, there was so much sugar in the cookies and cocoa that I felt like Elf halfway through the snack. Of course, instead of throwing it away, I set it down on my desk and ate the other half later. Then I decorated the office, went sledding and sang Christmas Carols.
QOTD: Coffee: Lots of half and half, no sugar. Tea, generally just unsweet iced tea.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Lunch: Shrimp
Dinner: Jambalaya
Have a great day, all!
