What's on your Thursday Menu?
I've thought the same thing, but I don't think that she views it as a chore.

Spending time with your kids 1:1 is never a chore, that's why I wondered why she is the one who always does it.

Good Morning and Happy Friday-Eve! JB- I hope your day is better today and that your mom is understanding and helps comes to a reasonable resolution. Thank you all for the well wishes for John's surgery. The surgery itself went well-about 3 hours long and started 4 hours later than scheduled so it was late when I was able to pick him up. He's on a nerve block right now that will wear off today. We have to figure out some logistics now that he's non weight bearing in that leg(he's been able to use it for balance until now) so I am WFH again today while we get everything settled.

Mornin' All!
Well yesterday afternoon I was thinking I should probably officially register for the course on the Russia/Ukraine war because the instructor is a postdoc who's here from Russia (postdoc appts usually go for three years, and I know she's been here at least a year now), and her area is expertise is in protest movements in post-Soviet countries - so I think it's likely this course is just going to be offered once or twice - and this may even be the only time. But then this morning I'm thinking I should go check out the third course I was considering after all (it meets next Monday and the time overlaps with the Ukraine/Russia one) and decide between those two - and the one on cities (urban planning dept) that I'd more-or-less decided yesterday was a "go". The one on Monday is taught by a tenured faculty member, so it's unlikely it's a one-shot deal, so I should have an opportunity to take it in the future. Not sure what to do, although given I'm taking two online courses from the Milwaukee campus, I think one course here on this campus is about all I can manage without going bats for the next four months. Plus do I really want to go to campus four days a week? I have a lot to think about...
I was thinking of going to Aqua Zumba today, but it snowed last night and is still snowing now (albeit lightly), but maybe it's better to just do some youtube fitness video and go to Aqua Zumba tomorrow instead.
as for QJB's thing - I can't believe any parent would expect their child to fork over that kind of money for their parents' anniversary bash. Employed or unemployed. But especially unemployed. Honestly, I was shocked by that. As someone else said, planning it is one thing (that in itself is a lot of work), but coming up with the $20K to pay for it? Forget that.
QOTD: the only music I listen to is the car radio while I'm driving, and I'm usually scanning stations every 10 minutes or so - so I'm of no help here!
B: plain skyr with fruit compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: chocolate "mousse" with raspberries
AS: I'll take a protein bar to class with me, but hopefully I can pull off a late lunch and not need it
D: chickpea/miso spread on 35-calorie bread, and either a side salad or a small sweet potato
have a great day, everyone!
The Russian/Ukraine class is so timely and with a first-person perspective sounds fantastic. I think I would choose that class if it was me.
