That poor woman. I'm glad there are some people standing up for her. The rest need to be better humans. Geez.
One of my mentors lives in Chicago and mentioned that it's pretty bad today. He's hibernating. Hope you're able to do what you need to!

Good morning ~ This week is flying by, GOOD! I'm getting so much done at work - super happy about the progress. No new dental issues, yay!! I'm sleeping well, hip is so-so today, but better over all especially with standing and moving. I another have a chiro appt today and they have been wonderful for everything. He cracked my back last week that gave me relief. I didn't even realize I had an issue there until it was gone! I rescheduled another appt I had today for next month - just too much going on right now.
QOTD - Yes, in HS Sophomore English. My friend had the same class the period before me and sat at the same desk. She would write the vocab multiple choice answers on the on the desk and I would use them. Not proud.
Accountability - GREAT
b- coffee x 2, HB eggs
l - salad, chicken skewer
d- turkey taco in a bowl

You Americans are very honorable and honest when it comes to test taking. This would have never worked back in Italy, giving the same test to two or three different groups. The first group would have passed the info to the next one in a matter of seconds. I realized the difference when DD was in school and saying after school she and her friend who was in a different period than her would compare answers. So I asked why wouldn't they tell each other the questions? Her face was priceless, she said that would be cheating. In my head I was like "yeah, but that is also a lazy teacher!"

Mornin' All!
I was approved for another class last night (big surprise!) that meets at the same time as the one I'm going to this afternoon, so I'll go to the other one on Monday and then decide between the two. What a mess. Oh well - it'll be nice to have options to pick from in case I'm not crazy about the one today. I'm hoping no more approvals come through, though. I just want this all settled so I know what my schedule will be for the upcoming months. I also have one of my film groups later on this morning, and I have to make a grocery store run for my mother sometime between the film group meeting and the class. UGH. I was looking forward to things picking up after a two or three-week lull, but I guess I wasn't totally ready for it!
in other news, I was down a whole pound this morning! Wow. Given the number of calories I can reasonably cut (about 200-300 a day) - and having one semi-blow out day due to a party last Friday night, I wasn't even expecting the usually expected 1/2 lb...so this was a nice surprise!
QOTD: technically no. But once in college a small group of us from a class met to study for a mid-term. One of the guys had a copy of a test that was given a year or so earlier for the same class/same professor (I assume a friend or roommate who'd had the class before gave it to him to use as a study guide). So in addition to general studying, we also asked each other questions from that old test to make sure we knew the material. When we got to the class and got a copy of our test, we were surprised to find it was the exact same test! So we knew all the answers. I felt really odd (and guilty) about it, so I told my father (who was also a professor). He said it wasn't our fault - the prof shouldn't be giving the exact same test every semester. The prof should have known it wouldn't have been difficult to get ahold of tests that were given a semester or two previously (or even before that) - and some fraternities even keep exam files. So...?? Anyway, needless to say, we all aced the test!
B: protein oatmeal with fruit, coffee with half & half
MS: taking a protein shake to the meeting and am hoping there won't be a bunch of goodies there (sometimes there are, sometimes there aren't...)
L: chocolate "mousse" with fruit
AS: depends on when I have lunch. I may have some yogurt before I go to class - or if my lunch is pretty late, I'll take a protein bar with me to class
D: chickpea/miso spread on 35-calorie bread and a small salad
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning all and Happy Humpty Day,
"You gotta get over. You gotta get over the hump" -Curtis Mayfield.
I actually posted in the morning - woo hoo. This week is long and we're not even over the hump.
I am reposting this from last night: yesterday, my aide bailed again. BCBS put in paperwork yesterday to switch agencies. I received a call from the bariatric surgeon. He said I have another hiatal hernia from the sleeve going northward. He said that since my medication controls the reflux that nothing needs to be done. He also said an option is getting the hernia repaired and converting to bypass. My car repair is turning into a nightmare. Right now, it's looking like I'll buy the parts and bring them to a mechanic to save $150. PT is kicking my butt and I'm in more pain than ever. Blech at everything right now.
My aide is supposed to come today and I'll let him know that I'm switching agencies. I don't expect any issues but am aware that he carries a knife on him, is an ex-********er, and still has a temper.
For those that drink Protein shakes, how much are you currently paying and where? I buy Premier protein at Costco for $32 for 18 shakes @ 11.5oz = $1.78 each. This $7/case more expensive than last year at Costco.
QOTD - cheated in high school but it was writing on skin and using the graphing calculator in math to store info. I'm aware of ChatGPT and discussed it last weekend. I was also made aware that students are writing papers using it. One of my professors said that she caught six people using it last semester.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.
L: Rotisserie Chicken or protein pack of I'm on the go.
D: maybe deli ham?
S: mini bag popcorn
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

I think your professor lied about catching people using the ChatGPT. As I understand it is pretty hard to detect it being used. I think that was a scare tactic. As for everything else hang in there. Things will get better. Just going to take some time. Slow and steady with the PT. Good luck!!!
HW 299 SW 290 CW 139 GW 140 2/08/2019 OPERATION: Surgical Hernia with excision of total surface area of 55 x 29 cm of abdominal skin.
Interesting about being hard to detect. I'll have to investigate ChatGPT. I like writing papers so it isn't an issue for me.

Yup, PP at Costco is the cheapest, but still more expensive than last year. Sigh!
