The Watcher is pretty good. I hear there will be another season coming.

Good job on your diligence in eating and working out. I think we need to work in treats to our calories frequently to not feel deprived. I like to work in sf chocolate daily. I also really enjoy my protein "frostys" (protein, 3 TBSP instant pudding mix, ice, blend, put in freezer for at least 30 minutes).

Mornin' All!

so I officially registered for my two online courses at the Milwaukee campus yesterday. One is the upper-division nutrition class i might have mentioned - on obesity, weight loss, and weight maintenance. I'm really excited about this one! The other is a philosophy class on Asian religions. Could be interesting. Not sure if I said this, but as of last night, NONE of my courses at the Madison campus were approved, despite my sending in probably six requests (I'd send one or two in, wait a day or two, no response - so I'd submit another one, assuming I wasn't approved for the earlier ones. Rinse and repeat until I had about six outstanding...). Well, yesterday afternoon, it was discovered there was some kind of glitch in the system, so some of the instructors never received any of their audit requests. Should have figured this out since I only know of one person - out of several - who had any of their requests approved. We were all thinking - WTF?? Anyway, so late last night, I got acceptances for two of the courses I'd submitted requests for. I'm expecting more this morning, once the instructors look at their email and approve (or not...) the requests (they don't always tell you if they don't approve them). So watch me get into like four classes. YIKES! Of course, I'm not actually going to enroll in all of them if I do. So what I'm planning to do this week and the beginning of next week is go to all the classes I was accepted in, and then just enroll in the one (or maybe two) that I really like. On the other hand, if the two I got last night were the only ones that were accepted (although I doubt that...), then I'll just enroll in those two. So anyway, my schedule for the next week will be very weird - and busy! But at least I won't be home much during the day, so I can't engage in any mindless snacking! (afternoons are my worst time)

QOTD: just a book for my children's/young adult discussion group the last few days (although I read constantly when I'm online - newspapers, etc). This will all change depending on what classes I register for - I'll probably just be reading stuff for class for the foreseeable future. As for films, my documentary film group meets tomorrow morning. The film of the month is "Capturing the Killer Nurse" (it's streaming on Netflix only). REALLY interesting! This should be an interesting discussion, esp since we have two retired nurses in the group.

B: plain skyr with fruit compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: salad with chicken breast and light dressing

AS: I'll be in class until 3:15 (so at least 3:30 before I get home). I'll take a protein bar with me in case I can't wait that long. Otherwise - probably yogurt

D: no clue. Maybe the 1/2 veggie burger and vegetables that I planned for last night but didn't end up having

have a great day, everyone!

I'm so randomly excited on your behalf about the nutrition class, and your ability and capacity for pursuing learning in general! Sounds like a bit of roulette though, making requests and having to wait and see. Glad you have two!

Can't wait to hear back about the nutrition/obesity/weight loss class. The more we are armed with knowledge the more we are successful in our battles.

I loved season 1 all the way through. Season 2 - just finished episode 2 and now it's getting good again. It's a drama - crime, law, politics, mob, gang mix - totally my thing.

have you tried the salted caramel whipped cream at Aldi's? OMG I love it! Makes up for the fact they didn't have the peppermint-flavored one this year!
