What's on your Tuesday Menu
QOTD. I just finished reading "Refuse to Regain Twelve Tough Rules" or something like that. It is written by a weight loss doctor, who is maintaining weight loss herself. The one thing that struck me is that all the long term maintainers here are doing a lot of what she laid out in the book.... Lots of books out there about losing but not about maintaining. Some of the best advice was establishing your personal "scream weight". Other than that I am streaming "Mind Hunter" on Net Flix
I have an appointment with primary care in 30 minutes, it is just 10 min. down the road from me. I need to go to Costco either today or tomorrow. We need to fight with the insurance company over Ian damage. They approved one amount but now they decided it will be 8 K less than the award letter? The reasons don't add up.
Menu: No clue! It is grocery shopping time although there is plenty to eat here, there isn't anything I WANT to eat

Man, hope you're able to work with the insurance company. Or, more accurately, that they give you the support you need.

I watched Mind Hunter which I really enjoyed. I wish they would put out another season.
Good luck with the insurance company.

Anyone can lose weight but keeping it off is the trick. In addition to scream weight I found I have to do a daily weigh it. If I get lax, I seem to gain seven pounds before I get back on the scale. It sounds obsessed but I am aware of every pound of gain. That book sounds excellent.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Good Morning! Jim is a gem! I'm so glad you were able to get the spreadsheet done, I know it must feel great to get all the data in the right place. Nothing too exciting for me today, just working through a few projects at work as we prep to pay our newly acquired dealership employees for the first time on the 5th.

Good morning, everybody!
I missed a Snatch yesterday and somehow my left thumb, which is supposed to be under the bar with the knuckle facing out ended up under the bar with the knuckle facing in. When the bar bounced off of the ground it landed on my knuckle. It is stiff and sore and swollen and starting to discolor. I can still move it though, so I don't think anything is damaged.
Later we did a good workout for hotel gyms that have a rower:
For time
Row 500
40 Air Squats
Row 400
30 Air Squats
Row 300
20 Air squats
Row 200
10 Air Squats
Row 100
5 Air squats
I finished in 10:57. I broke the first round into 25 squats then 15 but did the remaining sets unbroken. I tried to row at a consistent 2:15 pace.
Last weekend we watched the movie version of the Man From U.N.C.L.E. It is a 2015 remake of the 1960's TV show. It kind of bombed at the box office, but we enjoyed it. It's set in Germany and Italy during the cold war and was kind off fun - great early 1960's costumes, etc. I like those types of movies.
Crossfit tonight if my thumb cooperates.
QOTD: I actually haven't seen this, but my Brother In-law highly recommends the Wrecking Crew. Its a documentary about the studio musicians who actually played almost all popular hits before the late 1960's. The Monkees are probably the most obvious example of a group that didn't play on their own records but its that whole 1950's through Sonny and Cher, era. Some these guys played on over 100 hit records, and nobody knows who they are.
I think we are going to start 1923 on Sunday night. We haven'****ched Yellowstone yet. (seems like such a big undertaking). We have stuck with Fire Country and its growing on us.
I am reading All Hell Broke Loose by Max Hastings. It's a World War 2 history. I am fairly knowledgeable about the war in Europe, North Africa and the American War in the Pacific, but didn't know that much about the the non U.S. East Asian campaign (China, Malay, Burma). Also, some John Sanford books, one of which was way too explicit for us.
breakfast: Fritatta
Lunch: Steak
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!
