^^More egg memes, because... ugh. I spent $180 at Costco yesterday just on a week's worth of cookie ingredients!^^

Good morning! Starting with a big shout out to Jim who helped me with an accounting question I had yesterday. I spent a few hours on a big accounting spreadsheet I did for an assignment yesterday and I believe I no longer hate accounting! I am definitely a detail person who likes putting everything in its place, so once I figured out what I was doing, it became sort of satisfying. I'm not changing careers or anything, but I no longer fear it :)

We got some messy weather yesterday--rain, sleet, snow, hail, etc. Every time I looked at the window it was doing something different. It didn't amount to much accumulation but it will keep me inside today because it's all frozen to the roads.

QOTD: Whatcha reading/watching/listening to? I'm on my 7th book in a series that inspired one of the Hallmark Mysteries. It's objectively terrible, but I can't seem to stop reading them. I also watched the new Disney National Treasure show. It was also pretty stupid but entertaining, so it was perfect for passive watching while I designed new cookie cutters on my iPad.

Accountability was on-point yesterday but GERD is still giving me trouble :/

Good morning QJB and menuers,

That's a lot of baking ingredients! Glad Jim was able to help with accounting. And hope your reflux improves.

I have the gallbladder surgery tentatively scheduled for February 10th. The surgeon offered to fit me in on Thursday. I have plans next week though, and I got to embrace the first world problem of trying to schedule a time that interferes the least with work and my upcoming oral surgery. Looks like I'll be meeting my medical insurance out of pocket again this year...and faster.

He also told me this surgery will hurt more than my WLS because I had a lot more fat to cushion nerve endings? That was also a new one. Fortunately, I still have all my pain meds from surgery on hand. I got weird compliments from the surgeon and the scheduler while there. I forget they took before pictures and have those on file. The scheduler said I look younger and that was great since most people who lose weight look older. I mean...thank you? Anyway.

Working from home today and tomorrow at least since the weather is supposed to start and I don't want to take the chances of commuting through the snow/ice mix. I kind of don't mind the excuse to stay here. More to catch up on, again!

Accountability- Great! Nothing off plan

Exercise- Weights today and think I'll do a bodyweight routine.

I can't imagine anyone found her controversial, so it must be a technical glitch.

If they can do it laparoscopically, I don't think you will have much pain at all. I won't tell you my GB removal story until you are through yours but I will say I was shoveling snow two days after I got home with no issues and only took one dose of the pain med they sent me home with before switching to Tylenol (this was 18 years pre WLS when I could have Tylenol). Given you're having pain now, you'll probably just feel tons better after.

Oh boy, I always look forward to story time! Sounds like you bounced back pretty quickly.

And yep, laparoscopic is what we discussed. Four more incisions since he doesn't think he can reuse the ones I have. He also said that since it's not inflamed yet, I have a better chance of it not being converted to an open procedure. He estimated up to a week for recovery. I've tentatively scheduled the day of surgery and two work days off.

Hoping to be in the same boat as you afterwards! Sounds similar to my WLS recovery. I took one pain med at the hospital and a couple of big Tylenol they gave as part of the routine care (Tylenol is okay for my surgery type). Guess it got my hopes up that gallbladder removal would mean similar recovery, especially since it doesn't require anywhere near the prep that WLS does!

Looking forward to your story!

I am glad you were able to find a good time for the surgery, relatively speaking of course since there really isn't a "good" time for surgery.

Truth! Like I said, I recognize it's a privileged problem to have in this case. I'm very glad to be addressing it early and not with an inflamed/infected organ! Turns out it wasn't the surgery so much as scheduling the two week follow up they require afterward. While this scheduling means I probably can't go to Chicago (sorry, Jim!) since being on a plane three or four days later was discouraged by my surgeon, I've committed to a couple of other events that are harder to reschedule. Ah, work.

Hope things are progressing smoothly for your surgery planning for DH tomorrow!
