Good Morning! What's new? Nothing happening in my world, other than that I am completely stumped by one of my assignments this semester. Jim, I officially hate accounting.

QOTD: What's your love language?

  • #1: Words of affirmation
  • #2: Acts of service
  • #3: Gifts
  • #4: Quality time
  • #5: Physical touch

I haven't taken the quiz, but I think I am either -- words of affirmation or quality time?

Accountability was pretty low this weekend and I have been rewarded for my bad behavior with terrible GERD. I'm loading up on meds & Tums and need to stay on track to get it all back under control.

B: egg bites

L: chicken

S: almonds and babybel

D: cauliflower Mexican rice & chicken

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Happy Monday. Little boy woke me up yarfing a couple hours ago. I'm now hoping for a few minutes to nap before I dash about madly and head to the office.

Welcome to the club of hating accounting! Hope you get through it.

Got so much more cleaning done and am resolved to winnow out all clothes size 18 and up. Pants, at least. I've got several bags ready to go. Still haven't put the cabinet together but happy with where I landed for the weekend.

Today is my surgical consult. I'll ask about ursodiol even though it's late to the game. Google says this is a common drug prescribed post WLS to protect your gallbladder but I'd never heard of it until someone on the DS forum mentioned it. Did you guys get it?

Accountability-Good!

Exercise-Carried about 300 pounds of stuff to the shed yesterday. Good reminder to work on strength. Recumbent bike today.

Menu

1/2 whole grain English muffin, ratio yogurt, seaweed

Fritatta, 1/4 cup steamed sweet potatoes

Last of the turkey, Wasa cracker

Protein oatmeal or boiled eggs.

Cheers, everyone!

I'm pretty sure that the fastest I move is when I am laying in bed and hear the sounds of a barfing animal. Zoooooom! Hope you are able to make up the sleep.

I'm one of the few who hasn't had a bit of gallbladder trouble, thankfully! Never heard of the med.

Haha, this! Nothing snaps me to faster than a yarky dog. Probably bonus reflexes since he sleeps in bed with me and I'd much rather clean up an Aquaseal laminate floor than my bed. Extra sleep was not to be had. Need to be more on board with just getting up and on with my day...someday!

Glad you don't have gallbladder trouble!

I have never heard of that medicine. I'd probably go with getting the gb out vs adding a maintenance medication, part of the reason I had WLS was to get off as many meds as possible, so that's just me.

There seem to be several of us who don't know that drug, so I do feel better about that now.

Funny, I take ten times as many pills now as I did before surgery. All but three of them are the required supplements, plus stool softener, omeprazole, and the sleep meds that I don't think are related to problems from weight. The sleep meds were it before, and it's the prevention over time I was concerned with. It was such a battle for a while because people would see a very large person and just say well...you don't have any co-morbidities. Yes, and I'd like to prevent the stuff I can feel coming.

Anyway...I have a tentative surgery date scheduled. The surgeon told me I have the sludge and at that point, it's better to do it now than before it gets inflamed or impacts my pancreas. So. Right now, I'm scheduled for February 10th!

I was on ursodiol for about a month after surgery, but I never had issues with my gall bladder.

The undeniable sound of a cat with a hairball or who ate food too fast. I did take a med for gallbladder for 6 months post op (I think it was 6 months- may have been shorter) I think that was the name. I didn't have any issues with the med.

Yep, gakking animal is a pretty unique sound to react to. Poor kitties.

Thanks for sharing! Good to know about this difference for folks.
