What's on your Sunday menu?

Thank you!
I have had issues and I'm currently having to take a higher dose due to only being able to get that dosage.
I'm worried people who take it who are not diabetic will end up with serious complications. Like Jen said a lot of doctors prescribe things for off label use.

It is funny you mention this because I literally just was reading this in my news feed in another tab. I know several medications are in seriously short supply right now.
With growing popularity of new weight loss drugs, doctors emphasize potential risks (msn.com)
the shortage has been a thing for the last few months - like you said, due to people using it for weight loss. Doctors are prescribing it, though - they're not getting it illegally. There was a big debate about this on "The People's Pharmacy" e-newsletter a few weeks ago, between people thinking it should only be used for diabetics and others saying that even if people aren't currently diabetic, obesity is a huge risk for a future diabetes diagnosis, so they're OK with it being used for weight loss. I can see both sides of the argument. Hopefully the shortage is temporary - if so, I think more people will be OK with the off-label use (i.e., using it for weight loss) - esp if they have severe obesity that really is a huge risk factor for diabetes.
We have 1.0 pens here, but not 2.0, so for the time being I am on 1.0 plus something else. Hopefully the 2.0 gets in stock and I can knock one med off of the list.

Mornin' All!
OK - I really do need to finish my book for my book discussion group since the meeting is tomorrow morning (I've been putting off finishing this thing up). Fortunately, there's not much left to read - I should be able to knock it out in an hour or two. I also started plowing through the 2019 edition of the "Joy of Cooking" since my newest group - a cookbook discussion group - is meeting next Saturday, and I have kind of a busy week ahead of me. I own the 1975 and 1997 editions of "Joy", which are REALLY different from each other. The 1975 continued most of the traditions of earlier editions - just updated them a bit - but the 1997 version went off on another tangent - cutting out many of the traditional recipes and even deleting entire units - and adding in lots of international recipes - all the while cutting out Erma Rombauer's "voice" that talked people through how to do various things. Hugely controversial (I only recently was aware of this since I posted something about 1975 vs 1997 on Facebook, and was made aware of the controversy. I always liked 1997 because I loved all the internatlonal recipes, and didn't really notice the other changes that much, since I never really cooked from 1975 - I used it more for reference, e.g, how to poach a chicken breast, or how long to roast salmon for). 2019 supposedly brings back some of the original "stuff" - many of the traditional recipes were added back in, along with "the voice" (although not Rombauer's, since she's passed), while keeping some of the international recipes as well, since there were readers (like me) who actually loved those. I don't own the 2019 edition (although I may buy it), so I borrowed a review copy from a friend of mine who's a food journalist. The thing is a tome - over 1100 pages - and her copy is actually two volumes (not sure if the actual one that was eventually published is two volumes - or if it's just the review copy). So this will take awhile. Although I think I've read enough of the instructive parts to be able to discuss it on Saturday, and I can totally skip some recipe units since there are only so many types of dishes that are suitable for a potluck (we're each supposed to make something from the book to bring to the group on Saturday). So there's no need for me to spend any time (at least for now) on chapters on things like sauces or ice cream. (OK - sorry to be so long-winded!) But anyway, i'll work on that today as well, since i have a somewhat busy week ahead of me.
QOTD: chili and anything made with pumpkin or sweet potatoes (or just sweet potatoes by themselves!). Oh - and cranberries. I'm crazy about them!
B: probably nothing since I'm oddly feeling very stuffed this morning. I did go a bit over my calorie limit yesterday, but not this much. May be from fiber (had turkey chili at Panera's yesterday for lunch (met a friend)) - and my protein muffins have bran, apples, and carrots in them as well as protein powder. Oh - and I had a couple of pao de queijo - I used cassava flour, which also supposedly has a lot of fiber in it...). Did have my usual coffee with half & half, though.
MS: probably a protein shake. although if I'm hungry by then (doubtful), I'll probably have my usual skyr with fruit compote
L: chickpea/miso spread on 35-calorie bread
AS: protein muffin
D: salad with chicken strips and light dressing
ex: I think I'll go to the gym and do a stationary bike or the seated elliptical since it's cold outside and I'm getting tired of youtube dance videos - plus no water fitness classes today, either. I've been watching those walking/running video tours on youtube while I "bike" at the gym (e.g. walking through London). It really kills the time and I enjoy the videos to boot.
have a great day, everyone!

I love the joy of cookings fruitcake. Well one of them. It was my late uncles favorite and I was so sad to not need to make it this past year.
it's such a large book and I do prefer the older ones that I've seen. I keep an eye out at the thrift store for the newer ones!

Good morning! Big day ahead so I am happy to be up and enjoying a cup of coffee first.
We took the girls to see Frozen, the musical yesterday and they loved it. I did really great on food all day but made a bad dinner pick. Not only not a great choice, but we ate much later than usual. I ordered pasta, and truly only ate about a 1/4-1/3 cup, but oh my gosh was my heart off to the races. I'm guessing it will be a while before I think real pasta is a a good thing.
Today is pulling the rugs up off the floor and getting them cleaned, helping move all the furniture out of the upstairs for the new carpet, I hope to start painting the new fence AND I want to pull up all the rocks in one of my planters so that I can re-lay the weed cloth, add some crushed stone and stepping stones and then put the rocks back. My dogs keep running through there to drink out of the fountain and I am completely over their muddy footprints on my front stairs and porch. I won't get this all done today, because I don't have all the materials, but I am hoping to make a great start at it. And I'm calling that exercise for the day. I might go walk, but only to get away from household chores. This place needs a good cleaning, but I've been so busy we've been doing surface work. Time to knuckle down on that.
QoTD: Homemade beef stew or slow roasting a pork shoulder all day on really low heat until it melts and pulls apart. Then I can use the pork in sandwiches, taco's, with mashed potatoes and gravy...really, I can eat for a full week on one and rarely repeat my accoutrements. Yum.
Menu is so up in the air. Along with everything else, I didn't go to the market once last week. So I'll be freezer diving until dinner when I do have the makings for spaghetti squash and Bolognese.
Have a great Sunday. Peace Everybody!

LOVE pork roast! I don't think I will ever get tired of all the things you can do with them.
