Good morning, everybody!

They said that we may get muddy over the driving course so I wore my Columbia hiking pants. Plus they zipped off, so that if it got hot I could wear them as shorts. Friday was gorgeous , sunny and I expected Saturday to the the same. I intended to wear the green pants with a white shirt. But when we got up it was unexpectedly chilly so I grabbed the first coat that I saw in the hotel room. Everyone was chatting and distracted on the bus ride over, so it wasn't until we were out and milling around the facility that I looked down and realized it. Groutfit.

Oh sure, I could try to argue that the pants were technically green and the coat was a bluish/greenish tint. But we all know a Groutfit when we see one.

Nonetheless, I feel like I should share this picture because we are standing in front of Sheila's red truck.

In spite of the Groutfit, we had a great time on the off road course. I will post more pictures Photo Friday. I also have videos of Marilyn driving over the rocks if people want to see those.

We are off of work today, so I am mostly just going to going to the gym and catching up on reading.

QOTD: My Board term for CASA ended in June of last year, so I haven't been as active as I had been. It was a six year term, but I added another year, because nobody else wanted to be Treasurer. I guess since then the only thing that I can think of is the Heart Walk in September.

Breakfast: Egg sandwich

Lunch: Roast Beef

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a great day, all!

Few observations:

1) my red truck is beautiful. I think any car in red is more beautiful.
2) those hiking zip pants are such a dad pants. DH has a pair for hiking but I would not let him wear them anywhere else. The kids make fun of him mercilessly when he wears them.
3) groutfit - a portmanteau of the words gray and outfit--speaks to a kind of style that's simultaneously lackadaisical and delightful. Where all-black-everything reeks of effortless sophistication, the groutfit communicates something much chiller--a day spent cozied up in the lowest-key outfit possible.
Yeah, that's not what you are wearing Jim.

Interesting, that is a much more nuanced definition than I would have thought, i was more along the lines of all grey, blobby, disaster, which I pretty much hit squarely, Lol.

Good morning ~ So happy for the extra day off - thank you MLK!! We have been laying low due to the weather, but really we lay low most of the time anyway, lol. I did move more yesterday - walked the dogs and stretch session and house stuff but still sat through many watch reminders to stand. I'm bad about that and that has to change. I did stand for most of the day on Friday at the office for the first time and I liked it, but was not wearing supportive shoes so that got uncomfortable. I have new inserts and supportive work shoes that I pray are as cute as the pics coming today so that will help. Menu planning, food prep, laundry, a goodwill run, a cardboard dump run and TJ's. A couple of my favorite shows have dropped new episodes and I can't wait to watch (Godfather of Harlem and Your Honor).

QOTD - During the pandemic shut down I served as a DSW for the county I work for delivering food to the high risk/compromised community - I really enjoyed that. I think would love to get involved with our little community here, but not sure what to do. I'm more incline to participate in a charity event or simply donate.

Accountability - Pizza for dinner

B- coffee x 3, eggs and avocado

l - greek bowl - chopped salad w/air fryer falafel and tahini

d- carne asada burrito bowl w/black beans and veggies

s- orange

e - 45 minutes of walking/yoga

Have a wonderful day!!!!

I used to feel bad about donating vs volunteering but I have heard from a number of people in some non profit sectors that they'd really just rather have the money because they can use it better. So I was able to let go of that guilt!
