What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Seriously! This is why I have bits and pieces of so many small projects started but not finished. Definitely something I'm working to get over with this being the first house I can make those kinda of decisions in. Strangely, apartment complex management was not quite so agreeable if you sawed holes in the roof! Love this message, though.

I do dream of redoing the bathroom and research small space ideas pretty often. Not going anywhere anytime soon, so it's very likely to get done at some point. Anything new in this little 40 year old house is an upgrade!

I see you have some social anxiety. Has it gotten any better since surgery. I mean on this trip you had some great NSV's, so I hope you are beginning to be more confident. Just remember, we all put our pants on one leg at a time and if they look down on you, their the one with the problem not you. You got this.

Hey there! No, that part hasn't changed. Never thought of this as social anxiety, though I do have some about the planning and worrying leading up to the meetings and conferences I have responsibilities at. Maybe I'm thinking about it wrong. I do occasionally suffer from imposter syndrome in some of these meetings and have been working on that with my therapist.
It's more the amount of energy I have to expend to engage in highly social situations. I had always chalked that up to the introverted thing! I can and do function in groups and with people for hours at a time but it's exhausting and not normally something I volunteer for over extended periods. Trips to town, daily people interactions and normal work days are no big deal. Not sure if I'm making sense with that.
And yep, yay for thr NSV's! It was nice to walk around town and now have painful feet or be out of breath. Plus the towel and seat belt. And being able to squeeze through spaces my brain tells me I can't fit. I'm enjoying the physical differences for sure. More than I really like to admit.

It?s ok to admit that you like the changes that you have worked to achieve. Heck, it?s ok to admit you like changes things on things that just happened.
the best and most outgoing sales leader I ever worked with did a training early in my career and I was shocked, SHOCKED when he said ?I hate networking, everyone faked it sometimes?. It cured my imposter syndrome forever. And was the second most influential statement in my career. Now I just believe everyone is faking it, true or not, and it kills imposter syndrome in its tracks.

Makes all the sense in the world. That's why I work a 9-5 and I am only responsible for me. I don't enjoy having other people around. My favorite part of my job is not interacting with anyone I work with. Makes life so much easier easier.

Mornin' All!
I have one of my film group meetings today. We normally meet over lunch at some restaurant, but since the film that was selected for this month is kind of obscure (I think it's a Czech film - and not available streaming anywhere - and the library system only has one copy of the DVD), we're meeting at someone's house to watch it together, and then we'll have lunch (at her house) afterward. My mother wants to go to Costco and run some other errands afterward, but walking is a little tricky for me since I had some plantars warts burned off the bottom of my foot yesterday (or actually, frozen off - but it feels like burning), so I don't know how well this is going to go. I'm kind of hoping she'll be up for waiting until next week.
In addition to that online philosophy class i mentioned the other day, yesterday I got word I was also approved to audit the nutrition class I mentioned a couple of weeks ago - on obesity and weight loss. I am so excited! Both are online courses at the Milwaukee campus. I haven't heard anything from the Madison campus that I submitted requests for, though (except for one rejection - she said the class (in person) was already full). Hopefully one will come through so I can keep my student status active, but we'll see. I can really only take one more class, though - three is a big enough load for me - I can't take four. Well, I *can*, but that means that's pretty much all I'll do for the next four months. So no thanks...
QOTD: We've done so much remodeling since we've moved in here that I think I'm done (two bathrooms, family room (all three complete gut jobs) plus we replaced our deck with a three-season porch)...and even if I had the money, I don't think I'd do anymore. But if I HAD to do something, maybe the basement? Most of it is unfinished, but the original family room is down there (which we really only use for storage because there's another family room upstairs (the one we had gutted and re-done about 12 years ago). I think it was added to the house in the 1970s). There's also a half-bath down there with the original fixtures (although I'd keep the toilet - it's from back in the days when toilets could probably flush bricks - not these wimpy ones they make nowadays! We rarely use it, but it's great to have for "big jobs")
B: I'm never hungry until around noon, but since I'll be with the group this morning and over lunch, I'd better eat something so I'm not tempted to overeat once I'm at her house. Even some Ratio yogurt might do the trick. Plus coffee and half & half.
MS: I'll take a protein shake with me to sip in during the movie
L: I have no idea what she's making for us, but I'll try to be careful
AS: if my mother insists on errands this afternoon, I'll take a protein bar with me just in case.
D: salad with grilled chicken strips and light dressing
I had no idea what to post until I saw Jennifer's photos - so here are some pictures of my city (Madison, Wisconsin)
Have a great day, everyone!
P.S. Mary - I was actually thinking yesterday that you and Julia and Grim should try to meet up! That would be really fun! And I didn't even think of Kathryn - I'm sure she'd love that, too! I can't remember her name on here, either, but she's one of my FB friends (at least, I think she still is - come to think of it, I haven't seen a post from her in ages...). If none of you have her contact info, I can try to message her on FB...
EDITED to add: Kathryn is still on FB, but it looks like she hasn't posted in a couple of years (no wonder I haven't seen any posts from her in ages!)
Great pictures, Trish.
