Happy Hump Day! Time is so weird when you are not busy. I used to get more done before 11am than most people could do in a week, but I have regularly looked at the clock lately and seen that it is 3pm thinking it was 10am. The days just keep slipping away! Bit for the rest of the week, I will be back to being busier--I need to get all of my Valentine's Day and Super Bowl cookie options up on my website by Saturday, so that's what I will be up to for the next few days!

Oh, and I am super excited because I decided to celebrate my profitability by trying to get tickets to CookieCon -- a big annual convention for cookiers. There are speakers, workshops, meetups, and vendors. Tickets are hard to get but they go on sale at 8pm tonight and Grim and I will be set up on a few devices, to refresh and try to snag one for me. Wish us luck!

QOTD: Do you like watching awards shows? I didn't know the Golden Globes were on last night! Were they always on a Tuesday? Seems weird. Anyway, in my 20s by BFF and I used to throw really fun and popular award show parties with fun themes, costumes, and food, so I never missed the Oscars or Emmys. But in recent years, I don't really watch the show much, just catch the fun fashion recaps and highlights.

B: egg bites

L: Italian wedding soup

S: almonds & babybel

D: almond flour chicken nuggets & spicy Mexican cauliflower

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Yay, JB! Cookie con sounds amazing!

Quick post from the airport for me. This is the first time I've been on a plane since surgery and my first work travel in my current role. I'm posting from the plane as we wait for the FAA data to come back online.

Some of you have posted about airport scans after WLS. Ran into that today as I got the super whammy. Literally my whole stomach and groin area went off and was red, so I got the fun pat down where they offered a private screening because of how personal it had to be. Also bomb swabbed. Somehow my TSA pre-check didn't register and they couldn't tell me why, so hope this isn't something to look forward to.

I did get a mani/pedi yesterday, and it was just wonderful. Sometimes it's nice to be pampered, even if I always have to tell people four times that I'm really, really sure I don't want color on my fingernails. And no, no gel, either, thanks. :)

Editing since more time - I did have all the appointments yesterday. I am not a candidate for Invisalign for all the reasons, and if I want to fix my teeth, it's going to cost me two non-wisdom teeth (and a whole lot of money) to make room due to crowding on my upper jaw. Anyone have extractions + braces as an adult? I'm not keen on the idea but am fond of the thought of being around and in good health for decades to come. Would love opinions and feedback if anyone has them. I've been reading too much from Dr. Google and you know how that goes.

I got to celebrate a couple of my NSV's in the hotel this morning, including the full wrap of the hotel-sized towel. And sharing another one on the plane:

My guess is folks here might get this one. The last plane I was on, the belt cut the circulation off in my legs and I was always too ashamed to ask for an extender. I'd totally just make it look buckled as I hunched against the bulkhead trying not to take up more than my share of space. Talk about being hyper aware of your size.

To compare, here's a faaar away picture my mother took of me on the morning of my 40th birthday from that trip. That's about the distance I liked on pictures. I look like a bum because I'd rolled out of bed, got dressed in the dark so I wouldn't disturb them, and had been out communing with the ocean while waiting for the sun to rise for an hour.

Accountability- a few edamame and black beans. Good otherwise and had gyro meat and part of a poke bowl yesterday.

Exercise - Airport and DC walking.

Menu

Fairlife protein shake, protein bar, tea on the plane, the rest is up in the air. I come back tomorrow and have four more protein bars with me for insurance.

QOTD- Nope, just not me!

Cheers, everyone!

If I go through TSA the small screener doesn't go off. But if I am in the closet sized screener 100 percent of the time I'm getting the Pat down and bomb test.

Congrats on the seatbelt; that's a big win! I had my own extenders (3 since I flew so much on different airlines that had different connectors) so that was my favorite NSV, lol. I think all three are still in my glove box in my car "just in case". I did some consulting for TSA and they do randomly make even pre-check people go through as if you don't have pre-check, -eriodically, just in case you've turned into a bad guy or something. Hopefully that is all it was.

I literally never knew you could get an extender until a few years ago, much less buy them to bring on your own! Wow. Flight attendants never mentioned it or made an offer...for whatever that means.

And thanks for sharing! My digital boarding pass had pre-check on it but they didn't look at anything but my license and wouldn't accept me showing them from the app. No blue card (new), no pre-chrck. Hopefully it was the random since I was literally the first person of the day through security. Woo!

Great NSVs! Yes, I have gotten the full pat down each time I've flown since my surgery. I thought maybe after the skin removal but nope! Sorry the Invisalign won't work for you.

edamame shouldn't be a problem - or are you ultra-low-carbing? Black beans are really good for you too - although I watch quantity since they're pretty high in calories. But both of those are very nutritious!
