This chicken soup is just amazing. Think I'm a convert to using chicken thighs instead of breasts for this preparation. I might make it again for next week if I'm not sick of it by then! Very umame.

After 50 plus years of doing constant home improvement projects, I am living in a smaller condo and really have nothing to get done for the house. I had a live Christmas tree so taking that down today and will have a lot of pine needles to get cleaned up. I always have a live tree and seem to always find a few pine needle somewhere in June. I will have some small projects like cleaning out cabinets, but might have to pay someone to do that, depending on how strong I feel. A few weeks ago, I dropped a screw that rolled under the stove.

When I went to retrieve it I saw a lot of dust under the stove so pulled it out to clean the floor under it. That night I woke up with severe chest pain and thought I had broken a rib. It turned out to be muscle strain just from pulling out the stove. It is hard to face that my body has gotten weaker, but reality.

Ouch - that sounds painful. Never know what will happen even when using muscles naturally. I'm glad you have less to maintain. It's time consuming and takes resources!

Good Morning! Happy New Year! JB- enjoy your time at IKEA, we want to make a trip to the one that's about 2 1/2 hours away since we haven't been since awhile pre-Covid. Well at Friday's appt unfortunately there wasn't much change except he did approve that I can move to just the boot this Friday. I have my follow up with him in the 12th and he plans to move me to a lace up boot and release me to start PT. No driving until I start PT and then we will see how my range of motion is and all of that. Just four more work days with the scooter (that's me trying to keep a positive view- that was not the case after my appt on Friday....).Saturday I did get in a little pre-birthday pampering and got a mani/pedi (my dr did approve being able to soak my ankle since my incisions are fine) and my hair stylist got me in for a quick trim. Saturday night Em had her crew over for NYE and they all didn't leave until about 11 yesterday morning (we had a pile of 8 young adults spread across our sectional when I came out in the morning). I'm glad they were able to have a safer place to have fun and they honestly are a good group and it was good to hear the laughter.

It brings back long ago memories for me of waking up to teenagers sleeping all over the family room, most of them on blankets on the floor. I did enjoy their parties and being the house where they always felt welcome. There were times when I let kids stay with me who were having issues with their parents. But my rule was the they called their parents in my presence and let them know that they were staying with me. They were all good teenagers who just going through phases and I was willing to give them a safe place to stay.

I know it is hard now, but your body will heal and you will be strong again. Every day will get better. Just listen to the doctors and give yourself time. I hope 2023 will be a much better year for you healthwise.

That is also something I want to try. There is a local place that offers introductory classes to Lyra and aerial yoga. It looks fun.
