What's on your Tuesday Menu
Good morning, everybody!
I have had breakfast sandwiches a couple of times at McDonalds with no ill effects. Egg McMuffin isn't much different than what I eat at home. When I was taking my son to college two years ago all of the restaurants were on different hours because of COVID and after two other tries we went to McDonalds and I got a quarter pounder and fries. I was so, so sick the next morning.
Who knew that perfume evaporates? I guess it can go through the little pinhole in the sprayer. Marilyn told me that she thinks that hers evaporated because she stores it in the bathroom and the humidity from the shower makes it worse. She said that she only wears in when we go out which she estimated at 10 times (probably more like 30-40) over the life of the perfume but the whole bottle was down to an eight of an inch.
Yesterday we went to an escape room. It was super fun. We didn't escape within the hour but we were really close. After that we went to this new Greek restaurant. I did end up getting the eggplant and cut was yummy.
Marie will be excited because we are having the bougie canned fish today. One of the recipes that it came with is for Latkes, creme Fresh and salmon, so DD and DS are going to make that.
QOTD: I posted about this before, but I am going with Terrapin Station. The importance of putting yourself out there and taking chances speaks to me. The Sailor gave a least a try, the Soldier being much too wise...
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Lunch: Pork
Dinner: Foodie salmon and fried carbs
Have a great day, all!

I enjoy the escape rooms. I haven't done it in a while. Makes me think I am not so clever at solving puzzles. The first time I did it I had no idea what to do. Luckily there was another couple who had done it before.
Love the QOTD answer. So many of you have great responses. I agree with putting yourself out there and at least trying.

Thanks JB and I hope you feel better as well.
I am feeling somewhat better this morning. I definitely have the same exact thing Rachel had. Whatever it is. lol The only thing bothering me is an ear ache on the left side. The cough is still there and I'm guessing will be a while. At least it's not Covid and I haven't run a fever at all.
not a lot planned today. I have to get out for a few groceries and will mask up. I need some essentials too. We have the kids tomorrow and likely Thursday.
I'm feeling pretty good emotionally at this moment. Kind of had a coming to terms with myself this morning. If the surgery gets moved it gets moved. Freaking out and getting anxious about it won't change it.
QOTD: at this moment it's Of Mice and Men's "Fighting Gravity"
I haven't a clue what I'll be eating today.

Good for you on adjusting your thinking. You can only control so much and stressing about what you cant is a waste of your energy! Keep feeling better.

Hello Menu Friends,
Happy post-Christmas. It sounds like things were either nice and calm or eventful for the holiday. We left home to drive to Montana on 12/23. The roads were terrible. Super icy which slowed down the travel to 30-55 mph on the interstate for 3/4 of the drive. Then when we finally got to an area that had cleared roads, the wind kicked up causing drifting wind which reduced to the visibility to zero in some spots. This caused us to drive with the flashers on and at times were down to 10 mph. Occasionally DS would yell "you're driving off the road". It finally cleared up about 5 miles from our destination. So the drive over pretty much sucked. The temps were in single digit.
On 12/25 we were supposed to help with Operation Santa. This is where we deliver presents to kids from a needy school district. We load the presents on horse drawn wagons, have approx. 200 volunteers to deliver about 1000 presents. Anyways, the weather had warmed up. Unfortunately, there was water over ice. As DH was leaving the house, he slipped and fell straight back hitting his head. He was clearly out for about a minute. I took him to the ED, CT scan of the head was negative for bleed, wrist x-ray showed no break. Due to symptoms of nausea, dizziness, and headache they diagnose a concussion. He didnt feel good the rest of the day with dizziness and headache. Next day he was sore all over from the fall, head felt better with only infrequent dizziness. DH and DS drove home yesterday, said the roads were better. DD and I are here until Thursday. DD gets her wisdom teeth out tomorrow.
Eating on 12/24 and 12/25 were overindulgences. Yesterday I made my salads for the rest of the week. I have worked out every day except for 12/25. Today DD and I are going to warm yoga. Probably go to some thrift stores, visit MIL and my mom also.
QOTD: I will get back to you on this one.
Usual meals for me today!
Have a great day.
