Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a nice holiday weekend. I definitely had a nice one. Saturday the weather was still bad so our plans for high tea were derailed and we went to Ruth Chris for steak in another part of the state that wasn't hit as badly, instead. Then we went to a friend's annual Christmas Eve holiday party. It was a very nice day! Then yesterday we hosted 7 people for Christmas. Also a lovely time. I crashed hard when everyone left around 9pm but then I barely slept. Thank god I have NOTHING happening today except for doing a million dishes and returning get house back to normal.

I learned a new word this week - "scurryfunging", which means the last minute cleaning up that happens right before guests show up. I love it. I scurryfunged a whole bunch of crap into my craft room and shut the door before people came yesterday, lol. Between naps, I am hoping to get it to a beautiful state of usefulness again!

QOTD: Would you rather go snow skiing or water skiing? I really don't like snow skiing. It's cold and sweaty and I am scared of the ski lift, haha. I used to like water skiing as a kid, but I think I would be terrified to do it now! But of the two, I am all for summer sports over winter!

Ugh we have so many leftovers. I really need to stop the excuses, though, so I am really going to try to stay away from the treats and pace myself with the cheese!

Good mornin everyone.

Yesterday went fairly well. A cough has set in so I'm almost certain they will postpone my surgery next week. I am super super upset. Pissed off and just disappointed. My brother and his family are just thoughtless about it. I'll be talking to someone from the doctors office tomorrow and I should find out for sure then. At least my throat doesn't really hurt anymore but I can't taste much due to my nose being mostly stuffy. I tested negative twice for Covid. My mom and me had a small disagreement where she yelled at me for not going to the doctor. Then I proceeded to cry. Ugh...I was just very emotional. When I get mad I cry.

We've decided that the coming new year will be a no wrapped presents year with my brother and his family. All I'll say is my mom would have smacked me if I did some of the things my nephew and niece Riley did. My brother and SIL have NOT taught them manners or how to be respectful.

I got a lot of pajamas to wear while I'm recovering when I have the surgery. My old ones are looking fairly ratty. My mom got me some nice chocolate that's in small pieces so I can only have what I want and save the rest for later. I had picked a bunch of bath & body works stuff out. I also got cash from my brother in a coal bag.... Over all it was a good haul lol

QOTD: neither? LOL. I'm not one for either of those activities. After this frigid snap I prefer summer activities right now!

Food is entirely unplanned.

Oh no, sorry they may have to postpone your surgery. But it's better to make sure it's safe.

Hoping you feel better Mel. I am sorry your family was disagreeable yesterday. Here is a prayer hoping your surgery doesnt get rescheduled.

Another Christmas behind us and I am that Cat in the Meme this morning. 3 Parties Christmas eve and a huge dinner yesterday. Yikes. I have tons of Cookies, Nut roll, cheesecake and candy hanging out. I am going to keep it around but putting it out of arms reach. I do have one container of Tiramisu I got at a friend's party on Christmas eve, and it is the best I ever had so that I will continue to take bites of till it is gone. It is way too good to give up. Our friends with the twins will be here at the end of the week so I will pack it all and give it to them to take home.

We'll My Flip Flop friends, I am glad to announce a high of 23° today. I am going to do Mom duty around 9 after this coffee. I'll come back and shower and probably go to the casino a bit. Anything to be away from all the food in this house.

QOTD: Hence the arm surgery due to a cross country skiing last year and the fact that I cannot wear a bathing suit I am going with water skiing.

Oh, it would be fun to end the year with a big win! What games do you play? I only ever due the cheap slots because I find all the games too confusing, lol.

3 card poker and slots. Nothing expensive just for ****s and giggles.

I have only ever played the slot machines or keno machines myself. Although once a hotel in Vegas gave free $10 chips for staying. I played a couple of hands of blackjack and doubled my money. I was smart and walked away with the profit.

I always wanted to waterski but never did it. The same with winter skiing. The year I signed up for a learn to ski class was the year I ended up pregnant and then never tried it again. I would be afraid now to try either, but tell young people to do what you want to do because you don't know if you will be able to do it later.
