Last Christmas Eve, my niece and her boyfriend had posted on Facebook about how awful they were feeling with COVID. Then they walked into the Christmas Eve party together. I grabbed my coat and went home. A few others did the same, but most thought I was over reacting and they stayed. The next morning a lot of them tested positive, including one niece who was six months pregnant. I am so sorry your SIL is so inconsiderate. You are a saint for putting up with her. I would have a meltdown.

Good morning, everybody!

Mike it was good to see you back. I am sorry that you had a tough year.

I read this morning that they are predicting 6-14 inches of snow in Chicago Thursday night through Friday. I told DD that we need to watch the storm and I think that she interpreted that mainly through the sense of what to wear to the game Thursday night. But I am thinking that I may end up cancelling and urging her to fly to Chicago tomorrow.

We did drive down and get Marilyn her kayak. She is trying to find a roof rack that she likes and feels comfortable using. I think that we may end up postponing that aspect of the purchase until spring and either (a) bring the kayak home in DS' truck or, (b) pay the $237 to have them deliver it. I would prefer the delivery since its three hours round trip.

Work is getting busier not less busy, at least for the next 48 hours or so. I am feeling more and more like it is time to go.

We have a cookie thing at work today. Hopefully, I exercise discretion and do not end up dumping in the office. Also, we have a reception at 5:30 to honor some retirees.Hopefully I can still make it home for 7:30 Crossfit.

QOTD: I am going to say Elf but reserve my right to change my mind.

Breakfast: Fritatta

Lunch: Steak

Dinner: Butter chicken

Have a great day, all!

It does sound like it's probably best to adjust your travel plans, I know you were looking forward to it.

I understand how you feel about "it's time to go". As I got closer to my date, I started to waiver more and more. But then I would get stuck in a ninety minute commute or deal with a ridiculous customer and that would reaffirm I was making the right decision.

I have a roof rack that I use on my Santa Fe. The thing to be aware of is that a roof rack will require 2 people to get the kayak up on the rack. I have seen racks that go into the hitch equalizer on the back of the vehicle that looks easier to load. Wish I would have known about those when I got my roof rack. I just wanted you and Marilyn to consider if she will need to load the kayak by herself or will have help... I also use trolley wheels to transport from the car to the water.

Thanks, Lana. She has a hitch on her car, so she is intrigued by those. Also her Bronco is very tall, so that is an issue.

Good morning QJB and fellow menu friends! It's Tuesday but it's really my Thursday, yay for me!

QJB, you and Grim are adorable and I love the picture of you with the angel wings! But did you forget your gloves, your poor little frozen hands!

Did my UPS drop off, worked in the office for a few hours, set up my monitor and got in my pilates workout yesterday evening...man the commute just takes a lot of the day. I don't miss it.

Today I've gotten in my 8,000M row, tomorrow is 10,000M which I think will be the most I've done in any one go, but then I'll be done with two challenges for December. I have my trainer this evening too, and I want to do some straightening around the house. The band that I support on Patreon has their regular Tuesday night chat and monthly concert tonight so I can have that on while I pick up.

I think I might have to see if I can get into my dentist; I noticed yesterday morning that my jaw/gum was sore and it's not getting better; usually I'd give it more than a day but going into two weeks of holidays, probably better to just have her take a look.

QOTD - well, I don't want to be hostage so Die Hard is out, and while I love Love Actually they are kind of idiots, so not feeling that one. I guess I'd go for The Chipmunk's Christmas - I actually do a pretty decent impression of them singing, lol.

The eats today will be

coffee plus half and half X 2

ever roast deli chicken with pickles

Cold brew Skyr

Jalapeno Muffin with salami and cheese

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!
