Beautiful pictures! The tub is neat but the perspective makes it look smaller than I know it is.
Enjoy your tech-free time in the mountains!

Mornin' All!
the leader of the film group that meets today is having it at her house this time - she's making lunch for us. Jambalaya and two desserts. Ugh. I mean yum - but this will be a challenge. We usually meet at restaurants so I always have the option of getting an appetizer - or a bowl of chili or something. But the last couple of years she's hosted us at her house in December - I think to show off her Christmas decorations more than anything (and her house is always beautifully decorated for the holidays). Besides that, I have to make scones today for a book group/luncheon thing I'm going to tomorrow. Boy - it's really hard to stay on track during this season. So many dinners, luncheons, and parties. I'm going to weed out my options and drop those that I don't have as much interest in - or those where I'm going more for the food than anything else (like, this woman's annual cookie party on Dec 17. We've gone for years. She's a fantastic baker and starts baking cookies for it in November - tons and tons of different kinds of cookies. To be perfectly honest, I just go for the cookies. And I eat way too many of them, every frickin year. So that one should be #1 on my weeding list...(I'm already thinking about how much I'm going to miss eating those cookies - but I just can't...)
QOTD: I find writing really stressful, so I wouldn't want to write a book. But if I were famous, I'd rather be famous for being an author than a movie star or something. Then at least I could live a semi-normal life since i wouldn't be recognized everywhere I went. That would be horrible!
B: skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: jambayla. I'm going to try to really control myself with her two desserts (pear pie and hummingbird cake). A half piece of each at most (should be able to work that into my plan for today)
AS: hopefully nothing (lunch will be on the late side, so hopefully this'll work...)
D: chicken strips with BBQ sauce
ex: I'm going to water aerobics in a few minutes
have a great day, all!

I just picture a house bursting at the seams to store all of the cookies needed for any party where you start baking them a month early. Wow! Best of luck prioritizing those.

their house is a two-flat. This sounds nuts, but she lives in the downstairs flat and her husband lives in the upstairs flat. Hey -- whatever works! I guess they both need their space, but they're only a staircase away, so... Anyway, there's a kitchen in each flat, so that's two freezers - and I'm guessing they probably have a chest freezer in the basement. But yes - there are tons and tons of cookies - and she also leaves containers out so that, for a suggested donation, you can pack a container and take some home!
Wow! Sounds like a land mine of temptation. Best of luck weeding and choosing wisely for the season.

Good morning ~ I resemble that meme! Sitting in the living room with just the Christmas lights on and sleeping fur babies all around me. Such a sweet way to start the day! Today we are heading north for Rob's Christmas party. Looking forward to the mini get away. Looking forward to a semi calm 3 weeks before Christmas to get back to a good schedule of exercise. School starts on the 12th and it's a short session so, 2-3x the work load.
QOTD - I would love to write a cookbook with all the extended family recipes and their stories. Great Aunt Helen's Chicken ala king (never liked the stuff, but what a HUGE deal and story), Aunt Loraine's Colcannon potatoes, Aunt Fran's Polish MIL's Golumpki, Auntie Joyce's stuffing, Cousin Maryann's baklava... Quite a cast of characters. The only ones really interested would be my family, but it would be a great book.
