Happy Fri-YAY! We made it! And I slept from 8:30pm to 5am! Yessss.

Nothing exciting happening for me today or all weekend. Just the usual churn of cookies and papers... I think Grim's daughter will be coming over tomorrow, but that will likely be the extent of my socializing.

I'll try to come back and add some pics later, but I'm having trouble with uploading stalls this morning...

QOTD: If you were an author, what type of book would you like to write? I always thought it would be fun to be a children's author, and I have done some handmade children's books that sold well on Etsy back in the day. But now that I am becoming truly obsessed with these Hallmark Mystery movies, I now want to write something in the "cozy mystery" genre! They all follow a pretty specific formula--I just need to decide what my main character does for a living that makes her stumble on so many dead bodies, and then pick a cozy setting with lovable then characters. I think they write themselves :)

Good Friday morning QJB and menuers,

Yay for good sleep! It can be so restorative.

QOTD- I banged out a "novel" when I was about 11 on a typewriter my mom had. It was something like 170 pages about a poor teenager and their struggles in school. Relatable at the time, I'm sure. Now? Probably something sci-fi or crime related.

The weight started dropping off again yesterday and now standard BMI measurements concur with what my scale has been saying for a couple of weeks - I'm no longer obese, just overweight. Yep, I'm kind of excited to be able to say I'm overweight.

Asking for a bit of help here. Yesterday I tried some pilates for dummies and was reminded about the extreme sensitivity in my lower back when I roll over my tailbone area. It used to be a huge issue in my 9 Round days. I'm trying to find new exercise to love but can't handle the hard floors. Exercise folks - how thick is your workout mat if you have one? I see everything from mats reminiscent of plastic wrap to two inches. I'm also looking at grippy gloves and socks. Any value there?

It's Friday. Meetings today. I didn't go to the office after all but I am waiting for my PCP to call me back.

Accountability- just the black beans that aren't officially included in my diet. They'll be on here until the dish is finished.

Exercise- yesterday I set up my 10 year old Xiser and pumped while chatting to a friend, plus did some bursting. Will treadmill walk today.

Menu

Marinara chicken with spinach and parmesan

Sausage with peppers, onions, and black beans

Protein bar

Oikos triple zero salted caramel

Pics are of my dog becoming extra resistance last night and throwback pics from seahorses in Hawaii and a distillery we visited in Scotland since whiskey was surfaced yesterday.

The 1 inch thick ones are worth every dime! I have one from target and its great. If you get one and you have space limitations make are you don't throw away the two wraps/handles that come with it; the thick ones don't stay rolled up as nicely as the thin ones.

I agree with Jen, and wouldn't skimp here. For calisthenics we use the four part folding gymnastics mats like schools have and for lifting, I use horse stall mats.

I second and ditto Jen and Jim. I have carpet and a very thick XL yoga mat that is working for me. If I were working on cement, tile or hard wood I would definitely get the mat Jim mentioned.

Thanks! I have a few in my cart, including a couple that fold/collapse rather than roll. Glad to know I'm not the only ones whose joints appreciate support. The only carpeted room in my house is the den where my exercise equipment lives. It's probably still good to have a supportive mat.

Marie, beyond joint support, if I do a lot of something like situps without a thick mat, the baggy skin on my butt will tear.

Well that's something that hadn't crossed my mind at all! And it sounds incredibly painful- I'm sorry. Now that there's been a reminder of how painful that part of my back can be, I was looking at an exercise ball for fancy things like sit-ups.

I know it sounds like TMI, but a lot of us have similar issues, in various areas, so I wanted to warn you.

Not TMI, the warning is appreciated! I honestly hadn't thought about it. In my last skinny days exercise was treadmill, elliptical, and free weights. Not much risk of tearing, there.
