I only thrift, rummage sales or estate sales. Very few new items except under garments and shoes. People give me clothes because they know I will use them or give them to someone who will.

Yay for second life clothes! I did see underwear in the end bins at Goodwill...don't think that's something I could bring myself to do.

I read once that no matter how poor a person is, they do not want used underwear.

I think science agrees with the population there. Would rather go without in that case!

Good morning!

Kudos for making the best of a bad night! That mixer is going to save you so much time, too.

QOTD- My mom told me decades ago that we were all named based on simplicity. She didn't want people to be able to make fun of us. Our names are also of Irish or English origin due to, well, DNA. It was a fun experience taking the home DNA kit and seeing the actual results!

My clinic didn't call back yesterday, so I called them. They punted and said to go to my PCP about the vision thing, so I'll do that. But I am going to the office today. Also need to stop by a FedEx store and drop off a return. Working late happened again yesterday but I got some significant things moving.

Accountability- Great! Working to get closer to my old IF eating schedule. I'm not keen on eating late in the day because of how I feel and sleep as a result, so the goal is to be done eating by 4pm daily. Nailed It yesterday and only had head hunger.

Exercise- Mounting outdoor hardware. It counts if you get sweaty, right?

Menu

Ratio key lime yogurt

Marinara chicken with spinach and parmesan

Sausage with peppers, onions, and black beans

Protein bar, seaweed, baby carrots

Happy can't-believe-it's-December, everyone!

My getting made fun of name by my cousins was melofart...yup. I used to hate my unique names but I think we learn to love our names. Unless it's apple. Or some of those very out there names...LOL

It seems to be almost a challenge to new parents these days to come up with a unique name no one else has. How many names and unique spellings could someone come up with by adding extra or similar letters?

As a hiring manager there have been times when I would pick up a candidate and just flat out ask them how they'd like me to pronounce their name. The first time I ran into someone named Siobhan about 15 years ago was memorable. I'd rather ask than mangle something personal like a name!

re: exercise - they say people often burn more calories with NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) than they do with intentional exercise. This would be stuff like walking around your house or yard, gardening, cleaning, going up and down stairs, parking at the far end of the parking lot when you go to the store, etc. So yea - mounting outdoor hardware would probably fall into that category (as long as that's not the only thing you do today!)

EDITED to add that I linked my Fitbit and MyFitnessPal a few months ago. I noticed that MFP doesn't start giving me exercise credits unless I've had something like 3000 or 3500 steps a day (I don't know when the exact "floor" is, but somewhere in there). It evidently "thinks" that people should just naturally get in 3000-3500 steps a day, even if they don't do anything else. Probably true... And if I do some kind of fitness thing in the morning but sit on my butt the rest of the day (not getting steps..or whatever..in), it starts deducting exercise "points" from me! So frustrating - although I'm sure that's true - that doing 30 minutes or whatever of some intentional exercise isn't going to do a lot of good if I'm basically just sitting around the rest of the day) (I don't really pay attention to exercise credits or eat back whatever I think I exercised off, but it's just interesting to monitor all of this...)

Ooh, your MFP sounds nefarious! I've seen you mention it before but nothing on my side auto connects. It is interesting to see and track!

And much as I think sitting around all day might sound fun, life rarely works out that way. :)
