Hello friends and HAPPY DECEMBER! I can't believe it.

I got nothin' this morning. I slept terribly, and only got about 2.5 hours. Boo. I got an order for 6 dozen cookies last night though (yay!), so I am going to use my extra time wisely and warm up that new mixer and make a big octuple batch of dough and get this day started.

QOTD: Is there a story behind your name? I am related to the one-room schoolhouse teacher who taught the Wright Brothers and we share a name! I am not exactly named after her...I think my parents mostly chose it because it was trendy, but it's cool that we have the same name, and I have a set of her antique silver baby spoons with her name engraved in them.

B: ...not sure. I have been skipping it lately (except for coffee) and I have been okay, so probably nothing.

L: Turkey Burger

D: Chicken & Butternut Squash

Good mornin JB, I'm with you on the cruddy sleep bus. Ugh.

Not sure what today'll hold. I am getting my mom a purse for Christmas so we may go look around for one. They're having a good sale at JcPennys but it's online. I may try to convince her to order a few that she likes to test out. We can just return the ones she doesn't like. I can't afford a super nice one but she is an anti expensive purse person. She may even decide to check out a certain thrift store to see if they have one. Neither of us are picky with that stuff. I have a Vera Bradley purse I found at the thrift store.

We may go to the thrift stores anyway. I need to pay the phone bill and a few other little things. I'm working on little sleep and we did a lot yesterday in the house so I am worn out too. I'm sure I'll be making some ornaments too and I'll work on a chain for my aunt's Christmas present. I also need to make a watch band this weekend for my mom.

QOTD: it's goopy as all get out but yes mine does. My mom was going through a hard time with my father...they'd get divorced before I'd turn one. He was having a mental health crisis...per the usual around that time. When I was born my mom felt "saved" from the darkness. Sooooo I was the song in her heart and my middle name represents the light in her life(sunshine). Also very hippyish lol

B: undecided

L: I may make some lentils

D: ????

S: ????

Love the shop smarter strategy! I used to work for someone who thought getting good quality items from thrift stores was cheating if you couldn't afford the suggested retail price. So glad that person is no longer regularly in my life. :)

The story of your name sounds like a powerful one for your mother.

I've never been a name brand person, probably from growing up dirt poor. But I was pretty excited last week getting some branded items in great condition on half off at Goodwill. Good deals, indeed!

Same! I don't give two quacks about the brand name stuff. I'm picker about some food things but even that isn't terribly picky. Grew up dirt poor and I don't have the money to go for high value stuff. I mean I don't mind people who like the expensive stuff it's just not me.

It absolutely makes sense if there's something about the brand you like or enjoy. I'm with you...for me, that's in the food space with particular products. For clothes...100% comfort and function over fashion. I shopped in a lot of men's departments because clothes were simpler, sturdier, and cheaper!
