Good morning and Happy Hump Day ~ Yesterday didn't go as planned. After a 17 vial blood draw and the UGI I was not feeling well at all. The stuff they had me drink wasn't the usual heavy chalky barium due to my RNY they said. Instead I drank a warm clear liquid that tasted like gym sock sprite. The x-rays were fascinating. I don't have reflux, but there is a possible issue at the connection of my esophagus and stomach he said was extremely narrow/tight but he wouldn't say anything more. Afterwards I was so nauseous driving home I didn't think I would make it. Got home headache set in, bathroom running. Couldn't keep my eyes open. 4 hour hard nap. Soup. Throw up. Nap. Soup. Throw up. 7pm bed slept hard until 2 am. My intestines kept me awake the rest of the night - SO loud and constant, even as I write. Staying home as I don't know what fun is in store for me today.
QOTD - A few really beautiful ones and over the top fun ones but nothing like what I've seen on the news or online.
Food is ? just hydrating hard. And coffee so far.
Fun photo of my innards after swallowing a mouth full of that liquid - The dark represents the liquid. The left side is my esophagus, narrow skinny line is the connection to my pouch, then right side is my pouch. Any one in the know about these things? Thoughts?

No insight on the X-Ray, but hoping you feel better today. Sounds like a couch and crime show day.

That doesn't sound like fun at all.
Hope today is better.
I'm no expert but is that connection supposed to be that tiny?

That sounds like a truly terrible day. I am familiar with the gym sock sprite. So nasty!
Keep us updated on what they determine about your esophagus. I suffered from esophageal dysphasia when I had the lap-band and it was miserable. I basically lost the ability to swallow and was constantly choking and vomiting. They told me if the band removal didn't fix it, I was going to have to undergo a procedure to dilate it. Thankfully it did fix it!

I have had a few shallowing issues recently that have been a little scary, hum. I noticed my cough kicked into high gear when they laid me down and had me drink yesterday. The radiologist wouldn't say much because he isn't sure exactly what they do when repairing a hernia during RNY but he did mention possible scar tissue.
