Good morning, everybody!

I had a good weekend. DD went home early Firday morning, so that she could go to a football game Friday afternoon. We woke up at 3:30 and drove her to Midway for her flight. When we got home I napped for awhile and then did a bit of work on the computer. Friday afternoon was gym time.

Saturday was Crossfit, leftovers and football. I mowed the lawn on Saturday afternoon. Originally, I only did it to mulch the last of the leaves, but it actually really needed to be cut. It looks great now. Also, I ran the mower over it until its gas tank was dry so that it wouldn't gum up its carburetor over the winter. Sunday we had to drop off one boy at O'Hare and one at Midway. Marilyn's parents go home tomorrow.

I have a doctor's appointment this morning and then I am going to the gym. So I will wear gym clothes to the doctor's office which I feel slightly guilty about. Usually, I try and look presentable since the doctors make a similar effort. I have two doctor's and one dentist left for 2022, including today.

QOTD: Is it surgery, age or the CPAP? (which was a prerequisite for surgery)? I used to sleep 8-9 hours a night and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Now I sleep 4-5 hours, bathroom break (Thanks, Jardiance) and struggle to get back to sleep. Normally, I stay up later watching murders or movies, but Marilyn's parents are in the family room, so I am up early this week instead.

Breakfast: Quiche

Lunch: Roast Beef

Dinner: Leftover turkey, etc. (last time)

Have a great day, all!

Mornin' All!

this should be a good week. Because of the holiday last week and a couple of people being out-of-town next week, I have both film discussion groups and both book discussion groups this week. Plus classes (I finished my 1960s cultural history course a week or so ago, but there's still the other two). Didn't do much this weekend. Yesterday I never even bothered getting dressed. I froze a bunch of cranberries, made matzo ball soup, and watched youtube videos, mostly (also tried to get caught up on some lectures for my online class...). But back to it today. I have my first book discussion group at 10:00, so I think I'll go to water aerobics beforehand and just leave it about 10 minutes early (so I'll have time to shower and get to my meeting). I need to run a bunch of errands for my mother afterward - she said she hurts too much to walk today. So that's pretty much my day...

QOTD: for a long time I mostly slept 4-6 hours a night, waking up once or twice during that time. I started taking melatonin a year or so ago, which mostly just helped me sleep through the night - but still only 4-6 hours in total. Then I started taking CBD gummies on top of that. I now usually sleep six or seven hours. Although oddly, according to my Fitbit, it hasn't affected my "deep sleep", which is the most important - although my PCP told me not to worry about it since Fitbits aren't particularly reliable. But still, it seems pretty consistent.

B: plain skyr with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: I should have something between water aerobics and my morning meeting - maybe I'll just take a protein bar as a shake would be less convenient (I don't do ready-to-drink ones)

L: oh boy - I won't be getting home in time for lunch since the meeting is about halfway between my house and my mother's. I hate to eat yet another protein bar, but I might have to.

AS: matzo ball soup, and maybe some yogurt

D: salad with chicken and light dressing

have a great day, everyone!

Good Morning! JB- I agree that Thanksgiving already seems so long ago. I haven't wrapped my head around the fact that next Friday is Em's birthday and she'll be 18! We don't have any big plans since she didn't want a party but more of like a Airbnb rental with her friends when everyone is home for Christmas but as all "young adults" seem to operate they haven't officially planned anything yet.

QOTD: I get about 7 hours regularly. I often wake up about 15 mins before my alarm goes off.

Menu

TSS: 8 years 3 months

B: SF latte, Fiber/protein oatmeal, turkey sausage, and an orange

L: Turkey and cheese sticks, carrots, SF pudding and some fruit

S: Protein puffs, a piece of fruit and yogurt

D: Smoked pork loin, green beans, sliced orange/banana, and 2 squares dark chocolate

ES: Greek yogurt and a chaffle

E: rest day

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals:1471 Protein:110 Carbs:134 Fat:55

Have a great one!

hi all

i'm back after a long time away it seems. DH had major back surgery so been taking care of him and in the meantime the scale is up 5 pounds... :(

need to taper down on that.

QOTD; up until a few weeks ago, i'm asleep by 11 pm, up at 7am. now i have to walk the dogs at 2 am? and feed them and then go back to bed. if i don't do this they whine and act up. yes, i realize this is insane that they have this over us. DH can't lift any of them and skylar being blind has to be taken out of his box and carried downstairs to potty

I do tend to sleep in on the weekends when I can

food today:

coffee coffee egg whites/cheese/low carb wrap
