What's on your Saturday menu?
I want to hear what you think about the deprivation chamber. I have thought about doing that. Joe Rogan really says it is great.

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers,
Saturday! I'm so sore now, and I love it. The subdivision where my mom lives has a few good hills and my calves are protesting. So is my back but I blame the dog for that. I did get in a good bit of walking yesterday. Probably around five miles total. Checked my work email and need to do reviews now. Maybe tonight. My stepfather asked if I knew how to make cream cheese icing for his pumpkin muffins, so I googled it and whipped some up. Dunno how it turned out since I didn't eat any but they seemed to enjoy it.
We also hit some shops last night post whatever shopping craze came through. I picked up a few pairs of clearance or just cheap pants. One was a pretty good pair of skinny jeans that were a size 14, and two pairs of work pants in 12 (the last jeans I bought were a 26). Also found some kitchen stuff.
My mom mentioned more shopping today. No real plans on my end now since there are three whole pairs of pants that will fit for at least a month or two. Happy to get out and walk around though.
QOTD- I offered to make a turkey pot pie last night. Turkey and stuffing is about all that's left, as planned.
Accountability - bit of stuffing and a biscuit. Everything else was on plan and I got all the protein yesterday! Need more water.
Exercise- about to go do the neighborhood walk again.
Menu
More cold cuts but they're almost gone
More oikos triple zero
Protein bar
Turkey and probably a bit more stuffing
Heading home in the morning. Have a great day folks!

We were strict Catholics and I remember how badly I wanted a turkey sandwich on the Friday after Thanksgiving. But my father said the lowest place in Hell was reserved for those who dared to eat meat on Friday. I had to wait until Saturday.
Then it was a week of turkey leftovers. Hot turkey sandwiches with stuffing and gravy, cold turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey casserole, turkey potpie, and plates of sliced turkey for snacking. Now I like to put some in a salad for protein.

Friday meat eaters go to hell but pedo-priests just go to new parishes; I don't miss being catholic at all, although I will never get over my love of a gorgeous stained glass window:-)

Right?! I no longer practice for all the reasons but I love the churches. The art, glass, history, ceremony, tradition and the smell. It was my childhood. I visit now and again. I light a candle and have a good cry sometimes.

The churches definitely hired the best craftsmen; so much beauty!

We only did no meat Friday's during lent and I thought that was rough! Oddly, I still crave fish on Friday's.

The freshest fish is still served on Fridays in most restaurants. We did not eat meat on any Friday. I had friends who followed the Eastern Catholic restrictions.
The Lenten fast for Byzantine Rite Catholics looks quite different! Traditionally, their fasting period is more focused on abstaining from meat, fish, dairy, eggs, wine, and olive oil during the entirety of Lent. They would have dry bread and vegetables or a bean or tomato soup for every meal.
On the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day, March 17, the priest would give permission for people to drink alcohol on that day. If you gave up candy or other food for lent, you could still eat it on Sunday. I remember eating a whole box of chocolates on a Sunday in Lent.
