I definitely recommend the reformer classes; it was my "reward" when I got down to 250 and I love it. If you have a Club Pilates, they do a free sample class (or most of them do). Also, depending on the classes you do, you get cardio (jump class); stretching (restore/balance classes) and then the body weight/core/lengthening (flow classes)...and it's the only thing I've done that gets hard the better you are at it. Plus, I gained a half inch height after doing it for a year or so, and you don't expect to get taller in your 40s!

Holy crap Pilate studios are expensive! Which reformer did you buy? I was looking at them but I need to try the classes first. I have a wellness benefit from work I can use that expires at the end of the year for that.

They are! When my trainer set up her own studio, she switched from balanced body toflexia due to the price and I like the flexia so much more! That's what I ended up getting; it's still pricey but less than I've spent in club Pilates membership, lol!

It comes with a program per month like peloton but I plan on discontinuing that; my trainer does online reformer classes for much less so I'll use hers.

That looks like the ones at most studios I looked at yesterday. Yes, pricey but quality. Considering the local studio here is $289 unlimited per month or $29 per group class? Worth it. I'm excited for you!!!

Got to say I took a look at the Vault. Dick's has the complete for $499. Plus $500 shipping. :) I'm inspired to up my exercise game but don't know what that will look like yet.

I heard Dicks had them for cheaper than NordicTrack, but the shipping cost is crazy - but makes sense. They are $999 free shipping from NT - so same.

Good morning and Happy Tuesday. Sometimes I feel like I need to say the day out loud so I can keep track of it. My workout yesterday kicked my butt. And in what has become a normal routine, I am up two pounds after trying to kill myself for 70 minutes AND being 100% on plan for food and only having zero calorie beverages. The scale should be nicer to me tomorrow. I ran around yesterday after recovering from class and got a couple Christmas presents for the grand girls, a little bit of fresh produce to push us through til Thursday and made my library run. A good day over all.

Today, my yoga class is paused due to Thanksgiving, so I have queued up a high energy yoga class followed by a shorter hip and low back stretch class. May go for the stairs following that and then walk to my facial appointment. If I skip the stairs, I will get in my 2.5 mile loop instead, but I promise I am showing up to get my face done sweating and glowing. I am determined. I would also like to try to do a few rounds with my puny weights and resistance bands this afternoon. I am seeing a real change in my thighs and my shoulders and I want to build on that. I say puny because they are only 3 pound hand weights, and at class they make me use 8 pound minimum. I'm surprised I haven't smashed myself in the head with the eight pounders. It's all I can do to keep raising them over my head for the one minute burst. I plan on taking the weights and bands with me to Mexico and I have my pocket yoga program on my phone. 30 minutes of intentional exercise a day -- my current mantra. Oh and step away from the wine, Lisa. That should be my other mantra. I'm definitely trying and seeing good success. Not great, but good.

QoTD: Sorry. Mashed potatoes with a pat of butter topped with gravy over a juicy piece of turkey. I could probably pass on all the other food. Has any ever had Joel Robuchon's mashed potatoes. Basically 1/3 potato, 1/3 butter, 1/3 heavy cream. And a little sea salt. https://www.signaturedishes.net/recipes/mashed-potatoes-reci pe-robuchon.html Heaven.

Menu:

B: last of the turkey butternut squash skillet with a bit of cottage cheese

L: leftover bulgogi, 1/4 rice and salad

D: hamburger patty with slice of cheddar, tomatoes, a few TJ's waffle fries (which is one of the few things I do NOT recommend from TJ's but I am determined to finish the package)

Peace Everybody!
