What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Morning all! Happy Tuesday! Whew, yesterday was a surprisingly busy day. Customer service is a real time suck... I'm so glad I didn't have much school work left for the week, or I would have had to stay up all night!

I never made it to the grocery store, either! On my way, NOW. Trader Joe's opens at 8am and I will be the first one at the door, dammit.

QOTD: What is your favorite traditional Thanksgiving dish? I love it all but I would say my #1 favorte is stuffing (no surprise there, right?) and my #2 favorite is anything made with butternut squash :)

I really suck as a menu thread role model--2 days in a row with no menu because I have literally no food. But here is my best guess with some of what is on my TJ's shopping list!

B: Coffeeeeeeeeee

S: (after shopping) - Babybel cheese

L: TJs White Bean Chicken Chili

D: TJ's mini chicken tacos

Good mornin JB and everyone!

Yesterday was FRUSTRATING!!!!

so they upped my Ozempic to 1.5. I go pick up my prescription and when I got home opened it to put it up. They gave me the .25/.50 dosage pen. My NP at the surgeons clinic is looking into it.

it was just the proverbial cherry on top. I cried...an ugly cry. I am just so tired of having to fight for every little itty bitty thing. Just once...JUST ONCE I'd wish something would go as planned. I know it's small change to a lot of people but it was just the straw that broke the camels back.

on top of the frustration of the situation stuff my pain levels have been very high. More than normal. My cough is still somewhat lingering. Not NEARLY as bad but it's enough to aggravate my left leg badly.

No big plans for the day outside of the house. We'll probably run to the market Walmart to get some dog food. They are saying we might get snow thanksgiving night so we want to make sure we have it. Then once home I get to clean and make the cornbread for the dressing. Not to deep of a clean but mainly vacuuming and a quick bathroom clean.

QOTD: this year I am looking forward most to my fruit pizza. It's such a simple thing but one of my favorite things. Savory wise...used to be the rolls and fried okra.

B: JUST egg bowl and coffee

the rest is ????

Melody - I found out that part of the reason that DD was able to get a ticket to Taylor Swift was because the Dallas Cowboys have an exclusive arrangement with SeatGeek, so the tickets for Arlington did not go through the TicketMaster fiasco.

When we were at the OH conference we met this woman who was a pharmacist. She said that 1.0 was a maintenance dose, so that is probably why they went to 1.5. She was very nice, but I am afraid we may have broken her.

Ahhh TM is due some sort of something.

I just don't know if they expect me to do three shots with the small pen or what. My PCP called in an higher dose at the same time my surgeon did...before I knew he was doing it. I think they got together and decided with the info like you said to go with 1.5. My pcp wants my A1c down further and the surgeon wants it for weight loss.

Stuffing is my favorite. Then whole berry cranberry sauce out of the can. I use Stove Top but cook celery and onions in butter and add that to the stove top. When I actually cook a turkey I put the stuffing inside even though that is something frowned on now. I might die from stuffing cooked in the bird or from eating raw chocolate chip cookie dough some day, but it will be worth it. Fruit pizza sounds wonderful and might be a good seller for the Sunshine Bakery. I know I would gladly pay for it.

Good morning everyone! Yay Tuesday...I have to help my sister get my niece's car to the mechanic this morning (her heater blower thing went out and they are squeezing her in because you can't let a 17 year old run around with no heat in a Missouri winter....mechanics are so so busy these days!), then a day of meetings and I am off for the rest of the week once today wraps up.

I did run out and get the thanksgiving shopping done last night, visited with my sister and some of her friends, had another encounter with my niece that reminded me that parents have a tough job and I'm glad I am not one! I love the kid and her sass will serve her well as an adult.

If I can squeeze in a boxing or weight ball session today I will but not sure it's in the cards but it is in my mind, lol

QOTD - mashed potatoes - 100%. I think I've mentioned that everyone picks their favorite dish and those are the only ones we make, right? This year we have dropped stuffing and creamed corn, nobody picked them!

menu

coffee plus half and half

L&F greek yogurt and cheese stick

chicken green chili

ham and cheese hot pocket

Have a terrific Tuesday, all!

Mornin' All!

I'm going to go to water aerobics at 8:30 - then I have an online class at 10:00, online Mah Jongg at 11:00, a "family conference" (re: my client, since I'm her legal guardian) at 1:00 out at the nursing home, and another online class at 4:00 (this one normally meets in person, but I think the professor might be afraid that a lot of the students will leave early for Thanksgiving, and he's probably right. So this way they can attend class from home!). I'll also try to work on my global health class this afternoon or tonight, since I'm still behind. Tomorrow I have to make two dishes for Thanksgiving and work on a Web site with a friend of mine. We've got a somewhat complicated project we need to work on (dealing with security), so I hope between the two of us, we can figure it out and get it all done. Nuttin' going on after that through Sunday. Whew.

QOTD: either sweet potato casserole or stuffing (I used to hate sweet potatoes when I was a kid - now I can't get enough of them!).

B: coffee with half & half. Either a protein shake or plain skyr with cooked, diced apples.

MS: whatever I don't have for breakfast, I'll have as a snack

L: cottage cheese

AS: maybe a keto bar?

D: African peanut soup and maybe a small salad

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning, everybody!

Everybody made it home safely yesterday. The boys have already retreated to their rooms, so its as if they never left.

First the pie situation. Last year we got our pies from Hoisier Mama Pie Company. But this year a different bakery, Spinning J beat Hoosier Mama on Good Morning America. So Marilyn is headed to Spinning J to get pies this morning: Cranberry Yuzu Merengue (the winning pie), Bourbon Pecan, and Pumpkin.

Cranberry Yuzu Meringue sounds fancy, but if we are being honest I have no idea what it actually is. Bourbon Pecan sounds like it will make me dump. And I'm not a big pumpkin pie fan. I view it primarily as a vehicle for whipped cream. And I already have that with my SF puddings. Apple is my pie choice. It's sweet enough to be a treat, but not sweet enough to dump on. But since I will probably have the afore mentioned squirrel issue, it will most likely be pumpkin for me. Or just a glass of Bailey's on ice.

On to Crossfit. Two rounds with 3 minutes rest between:

50 Air Squats

25 Dumbell Snatch 50 pounds

50 lunges

I got 5:43 in the first round and 5:49 in the second round. Air squats were in sets of 25/15/10 and snatches were 12/8/5. Unbroken lunge sets. The whole workout was the snatches.

Afterwards 5 sets of 3 GHD sit-ups. I am watching my abs carefully today to see how they react to the GHD. It had been awhile and those can be deadly.

Finally, work. Yesterday was quiet, leading me to a false sense of security that the week will go peacefully. That is usually the case and then its mayhem from about 11:00 today until 11:00 tomorrow. Wednesday afternoon will be quiet as always. So far it doesn't look like I will need to work over the weekend.

QOTD: This is getting a lot of hate recently (except me and Amy), but I love Green Bean Casserole. We do use fresh green beans. Only a sociopath would replace the French's onion strings with raw onions or something. I also love the turnips and Rutabagas. Stuffing is axiomatic, not sure if it should even be allowed as a choice. And if anybody says gravy they are relegated to the VSG Board. Its a dressing not a dish.

Breakfast: Protein bar

Lunch: Ahi Tuna Salad

Dinner: TBD

Have a great day, all!

we're not even making stuffing so it's has to be a choice:-) we will be making the classic green bean casserole for my neice-in-law...and she will be the only one that eats it and then take all the leftovers, win win for everyone!
