What's on your Monday Menu?

Morning all! What's happening this fine Monday? I really killed it this weekend and did a week's worth of schoolwork in a day, plus I finished up all my Thanksgiving cookie orders, so I am footloose and fancy free for the rest of the week :) ...which is good because we are hosting on Thursday and the house needs some love!

QOTD: Seen any good movies lately? We saw Amsterdam--the one with everyone in it from Christian Bale to Taylor Swift! I liked it a lot. It was beautiful to look at, funny, and a little bit quirky/weird. Grim was not a fan, though. I also rewatched a mini-series from 1988 called The Murder of Mary Phagan. It really held up as a great movie--and very timely to rewatch because it is about anti-semitism and corrupt policing and attorneys who don't really care about catching the right person.

I really need to go to the grocery store. I was hoping I could hold off until after the holiday to avoid the crazy stampede of people but I don't think I can anymore. If I do not go, I am eating veggie burgers for 3/3 meals! And, I might, because I hate shopping when it is this crowded!

Good morning and happy monday! I only have two days of work this week and only tomorrow seems to be packed too full of meetings; today is not bad at all. I will get in a good boxing session and we have to do the grocery shopping for Thanksgiving tonight but that is all on the agenda.

We played a vicious game of catchphrase yesterday after dinner; getting ready for Thanksgiving Telestrations. It's good I came, my sister has been growing a pineapple (indoors, in Missouri, not exactly a tropical climate) and she thought it was dying....when I checked out google, it turns out it was a very small ripe pineapple, so we got to enjoy that with dinner too -- it was delicious and perfecly ripe...another week and it would have been rotten, lol. Also, pineapples take a really long time to grow, like 2-3 years between edible fruit....so we're looking forward to fresh pineapple for thanksgiving 25/6.

QOTD - I am with Grim on Amsterdam; I was very underwhelmed and I had such high hopes given the cast. I remember the Murder of Mary Phagan, I was a huge mini-series viewer in the 80s, the original event TV. I enjoyed Wakanda Forever, I thought they did a good job with it and TILL was incredibly well done. I really want to see the Banshees of Inishsherin and Glass Onion.

Menu today

coffee plus half and half

yogurt plus cheese stick

white chicken chili (my sister's version is the original, the foundation for my yummy chicken green chile but very different).

tbd on dinner, maybe something out or more chili

Have a terrific Monday!

Good mornin JB and everyone!

My cat Percy is Krampus. He is the reason we can't have nice things. Not happy with him. He knocked one of my mom's mini trees down and broke some ornaments. This tree is on the corner China hutch. That's a freakin big jump for his chonky 8 year old butt.

Lots planned today. We have to get stuff for a pecan pie since we couldn't find a premade one of a certain brand. Not my favorite pie but my mom wants it. They are not hard to make though. I might do some house cleaning but not to deep of stuff. Mainly vacuum down a lot of stuff. The kids and my SIL are coming over Wednesday and I'm not so thrilled with it. I am the main cook and I don't always work well with others in this arena. The kids are ok for sure but my SIL isn't the most helpful person ever...on purpose I think. Both her and esp my brother are lazy...I mean LAZY! I have so much to cook so...yeah. LOL

Ww need to run a load of clothing to the thrift store. Some toys to a certain toy drive. Of course a quick trip to the grocery store. Before that the bank and post office.

Has anyone ever had trouble with Venmo? I created an account a month or so ago and had a terrible time with identity verification. Now it won't let me ad a bank account to transfer the funds I received for a pair of earrings. I was frustrated to tears yesterday.

QOTD: haven't seen anything recently. I want to see the fabelmans though!

B: oatmeal and a banana

The rest is terribly unplanned .

I have not had any problems with Venmo, Mel, I use to quite a bit. I didn't have any problems with setting it up but I suspect it's one of those things that once you have a problem, there are a cascade of them. Good luck sorting it out!
