What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?
on 11/18/22 2:41 am
Morning all! I had a very fun time teaching last night! They did a great job with their cookies and it was nice to be out in the world with people. I am not complaining about my life at all, but online school is pretty isolating. People are fun :)
What are you all up to this weekend? I am going to try to marathon my way through school work so that everything is done by Sunday (this might be too ambitious) but I'd love to be able to take M-W to cook, clean, and organize before we host on Thursday.
Accountability today is a photo of me in my Cookie Lady shirt on my way to class. Sigh--so many feelings about how big I have gotten, but hiding it won't help-- so here I am.
Other pics are:
1.) What I decided to put in the Nice List package. Thanks for all of your ideas! I decided to go super simple so I could keep the price low.
2.) A recurring set that a grandma keeps ordering for her grandkids whenever the visit. These are cookie representations of their favorite stuffed animals. I love it.
QOTD: What is the scariest thing you have done/experienced recently? I pulled out of a parking lot and was immediately behind a truck, so I was waiting for them to forward. The truck didn't see me and started backing up. Ahhh! Thankfully, I was able to move out of the way quickly, but it was terrifying.
B: Egg whites & feta
L: Greek yogurt with peach
D: Chicken & veggies soup

Good morning QJB and menuers,
Yay, Friday! We made it!
Your classes sound super fun JB. I'm glad the people interaction fills your cup, so to speak. :) Good luck with getting things done this weekend. Surprised your school doesn't give you a holiday break! The cookies are cute, and I know you're working on regain but you look great in your cookie lady shirt!
QOTD- Just driving through Vermont with no (low beam) headlights in the middle of the night last month. Learning experience!
The pest control guy is coming today. Keeping bugs our is a constant battle that comes in waves and I appreciate the help. Only a few meetings today. Got to finish my recap from training yesterday. Heard feedback from a dozen or so people that it went well, so happy to hear it. Might take an early afternoon if I get caught up enough...elliptical is calling my name!
Need to decide when to head out this weekend. After chatting with family, I'll head out early and work remote for part of next week. Will be planning some strategic protein snacks for the week. They also asked for me to do some cooking, so that will be interesting. Love to cook, hesitate to feed others because of my styles :)
Menu
Low carb chicken enchilada casserole with sour cream
Burger patty with toppings
Chili protein chips
Quest bar
Cottage cheese
Crustless chicken pot pie
Yep...a lot but trying to overdo protein a little.
Photos of the pattern on one of my quilts and the views on the way to work the other day...taken in huge traffic gaps. Cheers!

I wanna learn how to make quilts.
Those snowy roads look so beautiful.

I know, right? Quilts are beautiful but I have a sneaking suspicion if I tried to make one...it would be cost prohibitive. Glad to have found this shop. I have 3 or 4 quilts from them. :)

That quilt pattern looks labor intensive! Very pretty.

I'm sure it is! I get mine from http://www.southerncomfortquilts.com/
Well, I've purchased them all during Oktoberfest trips over the years. Appreciate a good quilt.

They make some beautiful pieces! Realized based on the comments it might seem like I made this...I wish! :) And hard agree on driving in the snow. Was lucky that the roads were perfect, so just got a nice view.

QJB, I feel like every time I am in a parking lot lately there is a near accident. The people in the aisles drive too fast (hint: it doesn't matter if you have the right of way, it's still an accident if you T-bone someone). And the people in the spots are backing out whenever they get bored waiting.
I heard from my son that classes are canceled on Monday and Tuesday, so he will be coming home Sunday night instead of Tuesday - we are thrilled. Less exciting is that his class selection for next semester seems like a cluster. Hopefully his advisers can help him get into the classes he needs to graduate on time and/or they open additional sections.
It's kind of a weird feeling at this meeting, knowing that it may be my last one after all these years. They used to have a 5k run this morning and I always wanted to do it but couldn't. Now that I can, it's not offered anymore. I am planning to do Fran in the indoor gym as a substitute.
I fly home about 3:00 this afternoon. The weekend will be CrossFit, College Football and maybe a little raking. Also, anything we need to do to get ready for everyone being home. I know that we need firewood for example.
QOTD: Most recently was testing my blood sugar this morning after having an ice cream sandwich at 10:00 last night. But the big two are no longer working and my sons' well-being.
pictures are from Magnolia last week:
breakfast: ham and eggs
lunch: pizza
dinner: steak
OK, thrusters and pull-ups in 3,2,1 ...
Have a great day, all!

First off - that food looks delish and second - I had no idea Magnolia was that big!
I feel for you about your son I worry about mine constantly - he is really struggling.
