Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,

Sorry to hear you had a bad night of rest. When something is brewing it is so hard to get a good rest. I actually slept well last night thinking I did very well with my menu to wake up and the scale said something different. I am so disappointed today.

I got a manicure at lunch today and promised a friend I would grab her a Popeye turkey, I also have a bible study this evening. So basically, a normal hump day. I am looking forward to Survivor tonight. It looks like it is going to be a good one. I have now watched Top Gun Mavrick 3 times. I just put it on my phone here at work since I rented it, I wanted to get the most out of it. I love the song they play when they are on the beach doing the team building. I couldn't get out of my head before I saw the movie now, I enjoy it even more. One Republics I Ain't Worried.

I am sorry the scale betrayed you! Be grateful for your accomplishments, like getting back to working out, being more diligent with your diet, your health, your DH. You got this.

G'morning all!

QJB - I hate those stress dreams, all your fears in one place.

So I had another appt with my bariatric coordinator/NP. She wanted to "challenge" certain blood test results; mainly the ferritin and PTH. She is against iron transfusion and she explained why. So for the next three months I gotta have an iron patch (45 mg) and up my calcium to 1500 mg. She said other than that I'm a poster child for bariatric surgery and not to worry. I'm not worried, I have no side effects but I have always heard on this board that low ferritin is trouble. Mine is at 6 right now!!!

QOTD: hah! No snow here. But I hear Tahoe has received some snow for skiing.

Accountability: I didn't eat well yesterday, I was within my calorie range, but carb wise I hit 60, for no other reason than wanting to snack instead of eating real food.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee
  • Fage yogurt, salami calabrese (spicy and yum), unexpected cheddar
  • Protein puff, TWO choc zero almond white keto bark, quest protein bar
  • E: nope, just being lazy

Happy hump day!

Why is she against the infusions? If anyone deserved a lazy day, it's you!

She says there is danger of infection and it takes a long time to do the infusion. And, her clinic has switched from huge doses of infusion (in one sitting) so you need to go in 4-5 times to get the huge dose you need. She is a proponent of trying to bring it up with iron and then check the thyroids, and if neither works then go the route of infusion.
She said to trust her, she's been doing this for 15 years and her job is to see bariatric patients all day long. I told her it's not an issue of distrust but on this board I had heard a lot about the woes of low ferritin.

Good morning! Feeling a bit more normal with my gut this morning, but it's got a ways to go. I was 100% on food yesterday and had only zero calorie beverages. I got in a 3 mile walk, and a 50 minute yoga class. Because we had a special needs group join us yesterday, the instructor kept us in our chairs. At first I was disappointed, but man she worked out our shoulders, mid back and thighs like crazy!!! I am so glad today is my rest day that I almost did a happy dance. Then I thought that might be exercise so I kept calm until the feeling passed. I can feel screaming muscles from my knees to my ears. A good scream, but those are some tired muscles. My stomach is still not great. That really helped with the eating thing yesterday. Considering going to get some PP drinks and live on them for a few days, but they are terribly constipating to me and I've worked hard to get to a normal place with all that business. So I am not sure the cure is worth the cost.

Jim. W. T. F? I couldn'****ch the last episode last night. Could not have handled their emotions. Will need to do that earlier in the evening and process more. I know it sounds silly, but it's a tough time of year for those type of emotions and I've learned how to manage the situations to make it more bearable. Seems like they think Fire Country or Country Fire ???? is going to be successful?

Today is a beautiful Santa Ana day and is going to warm up to 70 with bright sunshine. We have a lunch date, need to take one car in for an oil change and I have a coffee date with my girlfriends to plan snacks for our Mexico trip next week. Nobody in the group is worried about wine or coffee -- but snacks are a must!

QoTD: Snow. Uhm, no. But I am having lunch beachside today. Can I count the sand as snow? And this is why we pay California's taxes and don't complain too much...

Menu:

B: Cottage cheese, left over Pork al pastor

L: ohhhhhh! George's at the Coves world famous Chicken white bean soup! And a bite of Roger's hamburger.

D: Just grabbed a hunk of smoked pulled pork from the freezer and think we will have pulled pork tacos, cheese, and a small salad. Innards only for me on the taco!

Peace Everybody!
