What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Ugh that is going to be here this afternoon. Good luck on your reindeer run. You're making me feel guilty. As you do the Reindeer Run my friends talked me into a Bar Crawl. Yikes.

You are still probably faster than me even after the crawl.

Nice! Glad you got to stay home. Congrats on signing up for the run! That's motivation, no matter how much you get to train beforehand.

Mornin' All!
there's some snow on the ground this morning and more to come today, but fortunately not as much as Jim's going to get (he's a couple hours south of us). I have my annual physical this morning, a Zoom thing early this afternoon, and in-person class later this afternoon, so hopefully the roads will be OK all day. I'm a little worried about the doctor's appt because I've gained 10 lbs since my physical last year, but I'll tell her I've been in touch with my bariatric clinic to head off any negative comments she might have. I really hate this. It was so great for years not having to deal with the "weight discussion". Now I feel like I'm going to start getting it again. Although my BMI is 27 so it's not awful yet (and I know she's OK with her older adult patients being on the higher end of a normal BMI or even up to 10 or 15 lb overweight), but still, I don't like worrying about this - esp when I went for five or six years without that worry.
DH and I are about ready to just dump this home-cooked Thanksgiving idea and just go to a restaurant instead. Dealing with elderly mothers is starting to feel like dealing with kids. UGH. Plus my 25-year-old niece is planning to have dinner with her friends, like she did last year. I'm tired of all the crap and I know I'm going to end up making pretty much everything - plus buying them wine to boot. I think it might be cheaper and less stressful just to hang it up and take them to a restaurant. Hopefully we won't have a repeat at Christmas.
QOTD: you asked specifically about cookies for these bags. I don't have any bright ideas, other than definitely none that have been rolled in sugar or topped with frosting or anything else that's likely to come off in the bags. So I'm not sure how well the decorated kind that you usually make will work with these things. Maybe something like biscotti or something else that isn't topped with sugar, frosting, nuts, etc....
B: plain skyr with diced, cooked apples. Coffee with half & half
MS: nothing - I'll be at the doctor's office
L: yay! I can eat salty things again (I've been careful the last couple of days so I wouldn't be dealing with a couple lbs of water weight while stepping on the doctor's scale). Maybe some of the sushi I picked up yesterday
AS: protein shake or protein muffin
D: I'll probably make the salmon I took out of the fridge the other day. And some kind of vegetable
Ex: I should probably do something before I go to the doctor's office - you know, to work off a couple of ounces!

I tried for years to get the fam to switch to thanksgiving dinner out, no luck. It seems so much easier and no clean up and no leftovers for days.

Why make the traditional Thanksgiving meal? Maybe opt for an easier meal to prepare. If no one wants to help you I think you should have the option to decide what is the best solution, whether it be different menu items that are easier to prepare or a restaurant.

There was a phase for holidays that included Chinese food buffets because they were always open. Great for cleanup, anyway!
Good luck with your doctor. Hope they don't give you a hard time. You've got such a huge net loss and know you're working on your goals. It would be a great world if your doctor asked how they can support you. :)

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Chaffles are a forgotten food in my menu. Thanks for bringing them up. I may add them in at dinner tonight. I used to really enjoy them
Ok Ron was so wrong on the price of the turkey, and I am glad to say it was only $58. So, what I said yesterday was completely wrong. The price has only gone up by $5 each year. If anyone wants to try the best turkey ever, I think $58 is a little steep but definitely still worth it.
My shoes say they will be delivered today, and I ordered another pair of glasses From Eye buy direct that should be here today as well. So that is all fun. We have a Friendsgiving event here at work on Thursday, so I have to bake brownies tonight. My SIL dropped off a huge bag of used clothing I need to finish going through and decide what I want and what I need to give away. My closet if so full I really do not need half the crap I have but when it is free it is hard to resist.
QOTD: I wi**** said Naughty so you could have done coal.
