What's on your Sunday menu?

Mornin everyone!

I haven't got a clue what we're doing today. I suspect my mom wants to go somewhere but we'll see.

My scale says I've now lost almost 6 pounds since Thursday. It has new batteries. Some of it is of course I was wearing more clothing but not much more. Chalking it up to water weight.

It's going to be chilly this week with supposed accumulating snow. They haven't said how much but i'm hoping for none as I do have an appointment tomorrow that I need to make as it's been rescheduled twice already.

QOTD: What is a very common thing that annoys you?

Blue lights on appliances! Why do we need bright blue lights on fans and heated blanket controllers! It's ridiculous! I have to have a fan that's loud due to living with a highway as your back road and the blanket is just ridiculously bright.

B: JUST egg cup + coffee x2

L: ham and salad

D: ????

S: fig bar and ????

I have a couple of those, I put black electric tape on the light. it is annoying!

I think it?s cold everywhere, I almost left my jacket in my car at the airport as I didn?t think I?d need it in Mississippi but it was 38 degrees when I got here and the high today is supposed to be 45 - it will be warmer at home!

I am going to the National Civil Rights Museum this morning and Graceland this afternoon. I think it?s a good balance of history and cheese, lol.

I?ve had some coffee and done series 2 in my yoga challenge and then I?m going to walk to a place called sugar grits for breakfast and I think I will do Memphis bbq or delta tamales for dinner.

qotd - people who drive under the speed limit.

happy Sunday everyone and stay warm!

for years I've been thinking of doing a "Civil Rights Tour" of the deep south. Let us know what you think of the museum. I still might try to arrange something like this in the spring if the "moms" are OK...

It's really quite well done. Highly recommend it! Graceland was actually fun too

Love your agenda. I could not think of a more perfect plan to spend a Sunday.

Good morning Mel and weekend menuers,

Congrats on the loss, any way it happens! Six pounds is significant.

Also chilly here today. Low 20's so I left the faucets dripping. I'll have to put the heater out in the well house this week.

I was a 6:02 shopper at Walmart this morning. It's nice to have less traffic in the store. Found everything I was looking for, so I get to experiment with recipes today! Because I'm a little crazy, going for something like the following: chicken pot pie, small chicken enchilada casserole, two small ricotta tart/pies - one with veggies and the other with sun-dried tomatoes, olives and basil, and two forms of hand pies - empanadas and Jamaican beef patties. I'll be splitting recipes so there's not a month of food. Enjoying the cooking lately for some reason.

Also have more laundry to get on. Put the nice, warm quilt and such on the bed yesterday so nice and cozy last night. Breakfast now to thaw my fingers by the space heater, then cooking.

QOTD- I'm just going to go ahead and say the level of technology we seem to think is required. It's everywhere it doesn't need to be. My stove has WiFi. Why? I can turn it on and off through my phone. Which is only connected because there's no other way to set the time. Just feels like we make a lot of things over-complicated unnecessarily.

Accountability- Good! Scale stopped, though.

Menu

Deviled egg halves x3

Chicken sausage with mustard

Red curried tofu and veggies

Yogurt or cottage cheese, seaweed

Photo I stopped to take on the way home from town this morning. Cheers, everyone.

oh yea - a Wifi-controlled stove sounds insane. Are people really so lazy they can't get up for two seconds and go out to the kitchen? Sheesh.

I could see using it to start the oven pre heating so you can get dinner on as soon as you get home or if you were doing something low and slow to monitor the temp; they have a lot of Wi-Fi enabled smokers for that reason

Yep! We use the wi fi for the smoker all the time. My oven is not wired for WiFi but many times I wi**** was. I am glad it has an auto start/auto stop feature. I can prep something, throw it in there, have it start in an hour or two and finish just before we get back from a big outing when I know I will be hungry and impatient to eat. Walking into a delicious smelling house is just what I need in those moments. Just like my crock pot, only different options.
