Good Morning Friends. I am alive. Hahahaha.... I have not posted in forever and a day. I have today off from work as we have a Tropical Storm coming through. I am a Pandemic transplanted NYer living in the Tampa area for those who don't know me. I am working as a 5th grade teacher right now which may kill me. Those kids are tough.

QOTD: I am trying to get over this bout of respiratory infection...I guess I have moved into the long hail Covid Category because I am sick for more than 3-4 weeks. I have Long Haul Covid last year and it kinda looked the same. You kinda get better but not totally better and then you get worse. So how this relates to the question on the day is being hard on yourself for the things I am not getting done. As simple as it may seem I was really proud of myself this past weekend for just getting the basics done - my laundry, food shopping, kitchen cleaned bathrooms cleaned and basic floor sweeping. (I have all tile floors) Doom piles still there but whatever. Going into the work week not prepared just makes it rough.

Food:

I had 1 slice toast with Melted American on it. And I have butternut squash cooking in some chicken broth with plans on making it soup. This is as close to soup weather as we get in Florida. I have a hard time drinking coffee in AM , I have a cold brew at lunch when I'm working so I drink in morning and a good part of day something I call my Caffeine ****tail. I got the idea from Silver Lining Lessons who is on Instagram and TikTok.

Make a concentrate in 16oz mason jar: put in an ounce or 2 of water. Add 2 Great Value Energy Pomegranate Lemonade drink sticks, ! Great Value Energy Dragon Fruit Drink Stick, One Pineapple either GV or Sunkist drink stick. Fill rest of jar with Coconu****er. and shake. This is a concentrate so add to taste to ice and water. For me this makes about 64oz of beverage.

Exercise: I am usually at the gym doing bodybuilding 4 days a week. I have not gone in a week because of illness. I do a one hour yoga class via zoom every week and have done that and plan to do some yoga on my own today.

That is all I got so far.

Have a great day Friends!

Cynthia,

So glad to see you. Hope you turn the corner on this respiratory illness soon. Hope you can stop by more often.

I have a friend teaching in the Daytona area. She was a 1st grade teacher at a Pittsburgh school district for 13 years. She went back for her Doctorate and ended up moving to Florida during the pandemic. She is working as a Literacy Coach making the same money, he did here without the doctorate. I feel bad for Florida teachers just by what my friend has experienced. She said Pennsylvania is way better for teaching. I guess it is a tradeoff for a beach and not taxes. Crazy in my mind.

So good to see you here, Cynthia.
Hang in there with the long haul Covid, I hear so many stories about the long haulers.
Teaching 5th grade must be tough, they are no longer kids, but also not teenagers...something in between and horrible. You are a super hero.

When you are feeling bad for so long, I think you have to celebrate what you were able to do vs beat yourself up about what you can't! Good for your for realizing that!!
