Good morning everybody!

I am going to post this quickly to avoid the dreaded double thread. There, we are now up and running. I'm always a little nervous to start us out.

Busy day today. I have to be in the office, so 3 1/2 hours of traffic to battle. Crossfit tonight, because I won't do anything this weekend except play golf. Then I have to pack.

I am headed to Cape Cod to visit with my childhood friends and go to the Patriots game on Sunday. I have never been to the current stadium, so I am looking forward to that. What I am not looking forward to is that I have a 5:30 AM flight tomorrow morning.

I guess that I will need to leave my house at 3:30 to make it on time. Yikes.

QOTD: What is your leaf situation? We have lost about 60-70% of our leaves and have already raked twice. Generally, all of the leaves will be down by Thanksgiving. Some years we rake and some years we hire landscapers to do it.

Breakfast: Yogurt parfait

Lunch: Chicken

Dinner: Meatloaf

Have a great day. all!

QOTD. Leaf situation. All the trees other than palms are leafing back out in spring green. The hurricane blew over 90 percent of the leafs off. That said very few trees drop the leaves in fall/winter. Some of the tropicals do a quick leaf drop and then leaf out again in March. Especially mahoganies. I hate those as they are such a mess especially since they have catapillars at the same time that drop all over your car if u park under them.

Husband had out patient surgery yesterday at the hospital. We were there for nine hours. He is doing fine today. It was another repair of a thrice botched hernia repair. I hope this is the last time, for his sake. I missed my B12 shot at the hematologist but was able to reschedule to late afternoon just in time to fight the horrendous traffic. It has never been this bad with all the workers being in town to rebuild. This is going to take years. We have heard back from the insurance, I am surprised at the offer they made. It looks fair, we were prepared for a fight. It won't pay for it all as we are opting for an upgrade to metal. But they won't pay for a fence seems we didn't have coverage for it.

Today is PT, late in the afternoon. In a few minutes I am off to the pharmacy, then grocery. Menu, I have no clue. Maybe rib eye with salad. I am uninspired, but anything is better than hospital food of yesterday. I forgot to bring anything and the choices there were pathetic.

Mornin' All!

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning - I need to get out and take a walk or something to work it off. Too much going on - mostly classes and various commitments. I think after Thanksgiving, when committee work starts dying down and classes are winding down, I need to re-evaluate what I'm doing and potentially drop a couple of things. I don't like feeling like this. I might as well be working full-time again. sheesh!

This morning one of my cats has an appt with his ophthalmologist, then I have class this afternoon and afterwards a birthday dinner for my niece, who turned 25 yesterday (she spends her birthdays with her friends now, and has for the last few years - the family has to celebrate on a different day). I didn't get her a cake. My weight is still sky high, so I need to stick to my plan (which I have for the last couple of days - hurray!!). She wants to go to a Mexican place for her post-birthday dinner, which is fine. They have street tacos there - those are pretty safe.

QOTD: I haven't been paying attention, but we're probably in the same place as you are, Jim. We really only have to rake on one of our side yards because we've had so many trees removed over the years (dying trees, that is...). Raking used to be a huge PITA when we had a lot of trees, but it's not too bad anymore.

B: cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with fruit, coffee with half & half

MS: pumpkin protein latte

L: eggroll in a bowl

AS: protein muffin

D: either two street tacos or one street taco + refried beans

have a great day, everyone!

oh - weekend. Tomorrow night we're going to some kind of reception. Saturday there's a pre-game cookout for the university legacy people (that's us!) - and then the game, which we'll skip (we'll be at the cookout, though). Sunday I signed DH, MIL, and myself up for this program by this Buddhist community in the area, but UPS scheduled a delivery that afternoon, so I may have to stay home. I'm sure my neighbor is getting tired of me texting to ask her to run over to my house to get whatever package they left on my front stoop. I was going to try to have the delivery changed to Monday, but you have to join something and it looks like you have to pay to have deliveries changed. UGH.

If I can't be home and are worried about something being stolen, I just route it to the local ups store and pick it up. I have a pair of sneakers waiting for me there now. I can't remember if they charge for that or just for a redelivry. It's the ups my choice app

You definitely are the busiest and most stressed retired person I know! Good for you for realizing you may need to take a step back on things that aren't bringing you joy.
