What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Oh my, you had a very eventful (and painful) summer. I am so happy you had found a place that you could bring Gracie with you. I often think that after the kids are out of the house DH and I should find a smaller one level house to move into since we will not need all of the extra room. I would just want enough room so the kids could have a place to stay when (if) they came to visit. I hope this change is a positive one and allows you to do the traveling you intend.

Holy moly, that was a lot.
I like your positive attitude that at the end things turned out for the better and now you have more time to travel and it's like a new retirement.

Good mornin everyone.
some jackwagon in our neighborhood/street decided riding a dirt bike at 2 am was a good idea. Then again at 5am. I was up anyway but it sure pissed me off. My cough is just about to kill me...ok I'm being dramatic but my back and legs are so so unhappy with it. I feel better in the other aspects of this sick crap. I hate being sick.
I have a zoom appointment at 10:30 and then need to go pick up prescriptions. We should finally vote today too. I just didn't feel like it Monday and we forgot yesterday.
I have a shirt that needs an iron on. I just can't decide what I want to do. I found a mandala octopus that's cool but I kind of want something LOTR. Life altering decisions I know.
QOTD: really just music. Slipknot and Taylor Swift. Not a hardcore Swift fan but it's nice to listen to sometimes. We are watching a serious on Amazon about the Tudors.

Good morning QJB and menuers,
I second the thanks for the very thoughtful feedback everyone provided yesterday on the QOTD. And I love no excuse November.
Currently sitting in the waiting room at my dermatologist for my annual skin check. Shocked there's a doctor that opens at 7! And at how many people are here. They have a huge platter of candy at the check in counter. Happy to report I wasn't tempted at all. But then, it's not generally sweets that get me.
A few meetings today once I make it home and an interactive webinar this afternoon. I was up late since I've been doing some volunteer work on top of regular job stuff and I wasn't able to fit it in before leaving work yesterday.
Got in my exercise last night. Planned a menu and am calling that a success...just a few days to the weekend and better planning! How did the days get so short?
QOTD- I did watch the watcher. And for some reason I currently like the Great British Baking Show. Not much has caught my interest lately though! Not interested in much reading or screen time once work is done, though I do love to read.
Accountability- A bit of rice with the Thai yesterday. And I got a veggie entree instead of protein. Made up for it with a protein bar later.
Menu
Yogurt
Cottage cheese and seaweed
Protein/fiber/collagen
Shrimp and spinach
Cheers, everyone!

Oh good, thought it was just me!
I love how the "amateur " bakers in the UK have so much specialized skill in the kitchen. I'm with you, fun to watch...Couldn't make 90% of it. :)

I once just HAD to make the "malt loaf" they made on the show a year or so ago. It's a traditional British bread that I'd never heard of before - it has treacle, malt syrup, and dried fruit in it. I ordered the treacle and malt syrup on line (didn't realize that World Market (or one of those stores that we have here in town) carries it - or at least the treacle!). It was divine, but loaded with calories. So that was the first and only time I made it. I still have both ingredients left - maybe I should make it for some party where other people eat it - and I can leave anything that's remaining with the host!
