What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Morning all and Happy Tuesday! I laid in bed for an extra hour jus****ching TikTok videos this morning and not wanting to get up. But no rest for the weary--I got stuff to do!

I was shocked at how strange our Halloween was. We usually have hundreds of kids starting with the little ones around 4pm. But last night, by 6:30pm we had only had three kids, total. It picked up a bit after that--lots and lots of hungry teenagers who were definitely not the traditional cute trick or treaters, but at least I got rid of the candy. I was throwing handfuls at them! That last little girl who came to the door was about 9 yeas old and I think had some developmental delays but when I opened the door she said "Put the candy in my bag". Lol.

QOTD: What was the best advice you took in your first year post-op? The advice I really took to heart was that in the first year it would be the easiest it would ever be, so use the time wisely and don't stray off track. I was a rockstar that first year --not a bite or sip of anything that was off plan. Wishing it was still that easy!

Good mornin everyone.

Feeling a bit better today. My cough is a bit more present but still not constant.

I'm hoping to go vote early today. Go vote!

I also need to get some basic stuff at Walmart today. I'll be masking up!

I agree on not comparing yourself to others. Each of us has a unique journey to health and wellness.

Hope you are feeling better.

Welcome to November, everyone! I've labelled it No Excuses November for myself!

We didn't have as many individual trick or treaters this year but had a nice steady flow of them; at one point I thought I was going to run out of candy, so I had a dish of those little dove chocolates from when my friends were here in August so I added that to the mix. I ended up having a bit left in the bowl so I just put that out by baby Yoda when I called it quits and this morning, as usual, all the candy was gone but they left my bowl:-). My favorite was the little boy who instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking stood at the front door yelling "hello, hello, are you in there" until I came out. I love trick or treaters!

I woke up with a bit of tummy trouble, I'm blaming the Reeses but I got in an upper body weights workout in spite of that and feeling a bit better now. I'll do legs tonight.

QOTD - this is a good question -- and funny that you ask it on a day that I've decided on no excuses November, lol.

I think the best guidance I had was to really be alert to all the different types of hunger and know what I was trying to satisfy. It really helped.

I have been feeling like I've gotten pretty lax and have made lots of excuses - I deserve a monday night wine; it's so hard to be disciplined the further out you are, I deserve a treat; measuring takes too long; meal prep is boring. All of those things are true but it's also true that I can give into those things or not. I am so much better at exercise but I know I need to do both.

I've decided to give myself some discipline for the month and go from there. My first years, my only indulgent day was thanksgiving....so I'm going to focus on good habits and discipline from today until Thanksgiving; I do have holiday mashed potatoes waiting for me then!

menu today

coffee plus half and half X 2

Ratio Yogurt

turkey slices and cheese

work dinner so I'll look for a protein forward salad

Have a fantastic Tuesday everyone!

I love no excuse November! I totally relate to the excuses - I'm sure that I'm famous for them on here. Right now I'm riding lack of sleep and overload at work to have wine and not work out. I can't keep doing that or I will never get where I want.

I completely relate! On a positive note, your Vault purchase inspired me and I finally ordered a home Pilates reformer. It should be here before Christmas so I'm calling it my Christmas present!
