Our favorite place is Sweet Cheeks Q, right next to Fenway Park Its a Tiffani Faison restaurant--she was the finalist in the first season of Top Chef. Its a Texas BBQ place, which is so fun because none of us are BBQ people, but it's so good! They make the besttttttt biscuits on the planet. I am going to eat a corner of someone's but I am vowing to use my calories on the drink tonight and not have a full one. It's all meat on the menu for me tonight!

I just looked at the menu. The biscuits are listed as "world famous", so you're right! Best on the planet! The menu reminds me of when I lived in North Carolina - pimento cheese, biscuits, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, collards, mac & cheese (white BBQ sauce is Alabama, though..). Kind of mishmash of various regional southern cuisines - but it looks great!
Happy Birthday to your Dad, enjoy him while you have him.
QOTD- I like spooky. I hate it when the days get shorter and it's so dark. Not like we are close to cozy it's still supposed to be in the 70-80's this week, with no rain in sight.
I did get work, I had a full 8 hours yesterday, but nothing so far today, my boss told me he had I job for me so I'm hoping he comes through with it.
Day 5 in a row at the nature park, it was a glorious day low 70's and sunny. I usually go right after work but today the kittens are getting their first vet appointment at 3:30. They do have names: Romeo the gray tabby, Sissy and Vee (she has the white V on her belly) for the girls. Not very imaginative but it's all I've got. My roommate calls the boy Pete, I call him Romeo because he is such a love.
The cat tree arrived and I got it put together but it's hard to do with 3 kittens trying to help! They love it, I need one for downstairs too, this time I think we'll make one.
I was really craving sweets yesterday, so had some grapes and some not so healthy other foods like Haribo Gold Gummy Bears- they are the only ones that I will eat. But honestly the ones from Germany are much better than the ones made in the US, but they are also really expensive.
The smoke from the forest fires is supposed to be with us through the weekend. So far I haven't really noticed it, but it is an Air Quality Alert.
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning Queen JB and Menuers,
Well hello Dollywood! I have a Bonfire this weekend and planned to take the last 1/2 gallon of Limoncello I made in June. I usually add Prosecco and Croix lemon seltzer, but I may seek out that elderflower syrup flavor to bump it up.
DH is having surgery on the 19 to release the pinched nerves in 3 and 4 of his spine. He also has water on the knee that is giving him a harder time than the back pain. He has had it drained 2x by pain management and he went back yesterday to have it done again and the doctor said he won't do it again but to see a specialist. You think he would have drained it to give him relief, but no and they got him scheduled for the 18 with some ortho guy. What part of excruciating pain did this guy not understand. I reached out to my Arm surgeon and as you know I always bake for my surgeons, so they remember me and do a good Job. He also specializes in knees. I got him in tomorrow to see him. It is a 60-mile round trip through tons of construction that makes it 2 hours in and 2 hours out, but I can't stand to watch him in pain any longer. So, when I do not post and just read tomorrow, you'll know why.
OK Matt thanks for the encouragement yesterday. I did wog 3.1 miles yesterday as soon as I got in from work. Then I baked cookies for the surgeon, grilled some sirloin steak put a crockpot of stuffed peppers together, and made my lunch. Ok so I didn't sit and eat the steak I stood and did not pay attention. I knew it was stuck but tried to keep it in. As soon as I hit the bed, I knew it had to go. A couple swigs of water and it was gone. Took about 45 minutes. Finally got to sleep about 11:30. Yes!!! NOOO After my wog, I forgot my Gatorade and come flying out of bed with shin and foot cramps. Had to deal with that for about an hour till the cramp pills and Gatorade kicked in. Needless to say, I am tired and would love a nap.
QOTD: I like neither, I like flip flops and pool time. If I had to choose, I'll go cozy. I like pumpkin spice coffee creamer and the smell of the candles and wall flowers. I also like hayrides and Bonfires.
