Hello Hello and Happiest of Fridays to you all! I am back to the grind after a nice few days off from school. Yesterday was such a nice day visiting my nephew. He's doing great! He's always been the most active person I know, so I think that having to be out of work for months is really the hardest part. He's boreddddd and not cleared to get back to wor****il December at the earliest. Today he finds out if he will need continued treatment or if they got it all.

No fun pics from the week, so we are back to cookie pics. Sorry!

QOTD: What is the nicest thing you did for someone else lately? I guess spending the day with my nephew was the nicest thing. He lives about 1.5 hours away, so it's a bit of a haul to get there and the day was super expensive. Happy to do it, though, of course! I was also asked to donate cookies to a charity fundraiser yesterday and I agreed to do that, too :)

Accountability: We went to Shake Shake for lunch after the museum and I had a burger for lunch there.

Good mornin JB and everyone!

My peskiness paid off. My pain pump trial is tentatively scheduled for October 27th. I found out I have to stay over night but that's a-ok with me. Now for Medicaid to approve it.

The kids have a four day weekend so my brother took today off. They are coming over for pizza this afternoon. I'll be having the soup I meant to make yesterday that I'll make today. We have to run to the grocery store to pick up something for dessert. We haven't decided if we'll order pizza or get frozen.

I got one of my mom's Christmas presents partly paid for. I follow this pet portrait artist on FB and she had openings so I made a down payment for a mini portrait of our late Merlin boy. She is just so so good at it. I should get it before Christmas as she said I'm set for her to start it around the end of this month. I'll be sure to share!

QOTD: one of my chainmaille friends lost her house in a tornado a few months back. I sent a box of supplies that I had extra of so she could make a little bit of money(she vends). That and not ripping peoples heads off for willful ignorance...I live in Texas after all.

Great news on the pain pump! Hopefully Medicaid will pay for it. I dont see why they wouldnt since you have been through so much treatment that hasnt worked.

Opal looks like she may be angry? Those AI pictures are incredible.

Why the face paint? Did you have a costume party to attend? You didn't mention it, or I missed it.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Good to hear about your nephew, and fingers crossed they don't find anything else. Bored is something that can be dealt with, and he's here to be bored. :) always love your cookie pictures.

QOTD- I seem to be recalling a bunch of little things that feel kind of insignificant in the "lately " context. Helping someone in a wheelchair get items off a top shelf. Helping the assistants schlep gear when it was obvious they were struggling and they seem to be invisible to some people. Small acts of kindness, or just trying to be a good human.

Debated posting today. Know what's good for weight loss? Upset stomach and guts. Mine aren't resolved yet and it is now my job to stay hydrated. Think today is another liquids day. I did get in 4 protein shakes yesterday for over 100g of protein, so happy about that. Think I'll skip Miralax today, all things considered. Currently also pushing exercise to see how I feel this afternoon. I'd be sad to have to skip it but...probably understandable.

So glad it's Friday, and that my boss is out. Three meetings today and then a doctor's appointment. Will be requesting a referral to the nearby dermatologist. I saw one last year but this doctor is nuts about referrals. The sun damage on my face is growing by the year as time marches across my face. In addition to my 3 month follow up Monday, I'm getting a cosmetic IPL treatment on my face. Something new for me. I hope it works. :)

Photos are of Bob's from 2019 and part of my car camping setup because I'm glad to have something to look forward to in a couple weeks. Oh, and a sunrise from when I drove out to OBX and spent the night on the beach. Cheers, everyone.
