Good morning all and Happy Thursday,

I also woke up sore this morning. My amazing workout routine was standing with my cane for much longer than normal in my friend's garage until I asked for a chair. I am so stubborn asking for help.

QOTD - I'm 42 and live by myself in Chicago. I have no children and no pets. Weight has always been an issue throughout my life. I started walking with a cane in 2019 due to needing a hip replacement. I need a hip replacement due to it being bone on bone and nothing else can help. Hip replacement surgery is too risky for multiple orthopedists due to my weight. This was the catalyst for wanting WLS. I had surgery 8/9/21 and was well on my way until this summer. I am trying to get back to the pace I was previously on. I am currently not working. I went back to school and am 1 class from getting my associate's degree. I don't know what I want to do when I grow up. My previous careers have found me in mortgages and advertising.

B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut Yogurt, Tangerine.

L: PP shake.

D: Fancy topping burger and fries, trying to limit the fries.

HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

hi all later post for me.

QOTD: supershopper here. obese child, less obese teenager but thought I was huge, and morbidly obese adult. finally decided on the surgery and had it 12/2015. I'm officially 7 years out soon. I have experienced regain but also went down to 118 pounds which was too low. so ideally would like to lose 30 pounds. It is tough :) It seems like 30 pounds is nothing to lose after losing so much but it is.

food today:

coffee coffee water

egg whites and cheese

chicken sausage

more water

yea - the closer you are to a normal BMI, the harder it is to lose weight. I've mentioned this before, but I used to roll my eyes at these women at Weigh****chers meetings (from before I had WLS) who were just "overweight" or slightly obese who'd b*tch and moan about how hard it was to lose 10 lbs. Now I totally get it...

QOTD- I grew up in Oregon, lived in Portland until I was 14, when my parents decided to do the back to nature thing and moved us (I have one brother 18 months older) to what we unlovingly referred to as the "sticks". I had a miserable time in high school, I had lived in the same house my whole life and went to school with the same kids since kindergarten. Not being miss sociable I really struggled in high school. I didn't help that it was a small town and unless you had grown up there you were an "outsider". The only benefit was I took my berry picking money and bought my first horse at 14. I've been in love with horses my whole life. My parents couldn't afford to send me to college so I went in the Marine Corps 7 days after I graduated to get the GI Bill. High school was a picnic compared to the military. Needless to say I started gaining weight at 19, lost and gained probably 3 times my body weight over the years. I lost 90lbs and maintained it for 5 years until I had a hysterectomy. I gained that back plus 50lbs. My roommate is actually the one that convinced me to have the surgery. It was a 6 month struggle with the insurance and the pre-op diet which I actually gained weight, it was such a pain I almost gave up but I got the surgery and haven't looked back. I've been married too many times (3), met the one I thought was the love of my life only to have him string me along for 9 years and then dump me. He totally broke my heart so I say no more men! I used to vacation in Maui and always thought I wanted to retire there, until I moved there and was totally miserable. But the weather was great, mostly. So I'm back in Oregon and trying to get my life back together. One of my big regrets is that I had to get rid of my horse when I moved to Maui. But I just bought a house and adopted 3 kittens, I must have lost my mind. I lost my Sammy cat in July, wasn't sure I wanted another one right away, but they are here and adorable and annoying and totally cute! I'm struggling with some regain, afraid to step on the scale. I just know my jeans are too tight. Last time I checked it was about 9lbs. I have always struggled with low self-esteem, add to that an abusive marriage and PTSD and Social Anxiety, add in a little OCD and I'm pretty much a mess. I love to read, go to the movies, love football the Ducks and the Seahawks- I went to many of their games in the 80's loved the King Dome, I've only been to one game in the new stadium. But now I'm not a fan of crowds. I knit, spin, weave, and sew. Probably TMI.

I'm not getting any work, and I'm not sleeping well was up at 2AM and didn't get back to sleep. I need to either get another job or file for my Social Security so I will have enough money to pay my bills.

Have a great day everyone!

You've been through a lot! Congrats on coming out the other side and learning along the way. Much as I sometimes wish life came with a manual, there's a lot of growth in some of the things we go through - not including abusive marriages...

Glad you made it back, and I hope you're able to find work.
