Good morning! It's my Friday! Whee! I got my data analytics paper to a good place, finished up the last few other assignments and turned it all in :) I also decorated over 150 ghost cookies yesterday! I would love to take a full day off from everything but today I have to bake bake bake. I am thrilled about how many orders I have for Halloween... but yikes! I also need to run some errands today - post office, grocery store, etc. I'm also going to visit my nephew tomorrow and he requested "food" so I am going to go to a really popular restaurant nearby and grab a ton of dishes for him.
QOTD: Do you have a lot of abandoned online shopping carts? In my marketing class I learned that just under 70% of online shopping carts are abandoned. I do it all the time. I love to "window shop" online. At this point I think I have about a million dollars worth of things in my Amazon "save for later" cart!
My acid continues to get better every day. Things are starting to taste normal again and I don't have that gnawing feeling that I sometimes confuse with hunger. I still have a sore throat from it, but it's always worse when I first wake up, so hopefully it gets better throughout the day.
B: Egg whites & cheese
L: Chicken
D: Steak
Not going to pretend I'm exercising today... It's 50 and raining outside, and a family of wasps have managed to find a crack in the house and they took up residence in my craft room where the treadmill is. The wasps have been pretty chill about letting me go in and out of the room to get stuff, but I am not going to go for a walk with them! Hopefully we can rid of these guys soon!

Good morning QJB and menuers,
Glad you're in a better place! I don't know how you keep up with that many cookies. Good luck with the wasps...it's on my list of nightmarish things to find them in my bed. Hope you're able to boot them quickly!
QOTD- For sure. I can be impulsive on some things so I consider it a success when I abandon shopping carts. The sites where I have an account (Chewy, Unjury, Harney and Sons, etc.) Love to email me about the "forgotten" items.
Yesterday at work there was a pretty large meeting. I got an email in the afternoon about unused food and went to check it out. Sooo much! Dozens and dozens of sandwiches, muffins, cookies, parfaits, crackers and cheese, the list goes on. I boxed up a couple of roast beef sandwiches and some cheese cubes and rescued them. It's a paradox. I hate food waste but I also don't eat bread, raw veggies or crackers right now. And normally not roast beef. They didn't have turkey. Deconstructed a sandwich this morning and will incorporate it into menu items for the rest of the week. Whomever made those things was serious about the beef pile!
Another office day today. Getting everything around, slowly. My day to leave a little later, fortunately. Kicking off the day with a three hour meeting. Joy. I don't even remember what the rest of the day looks like. Something along the lines of meeting, meeting, meeting, escape.
Accountability- I ate more than planned yesterday but nothing I shouldn't have. Topped out at just over 1k calories, so well within bounds. Just need to be careful of grazing behavior.
Exercise- Elliptical- Done
Menu
Protein/fiber/collagen
Yogurt
Egg bites with roast beef, mustard, and cheese blend
Yogurt
Air fried shiitake mushrooms
Seaweed x2
Might change it up a bit. Was so tired from bot sleeping that I didn't feel like much menu planning. Can you tell? :)
Have a great day, everyone!

Ah ha! Such a great topic - thanks for sharing. My last partner happily did that. I'm coming to realize how much easier it is to control at home since I cook and portion and freeze. It's out in the wild where it gets bad! I'm getting better in person about asking for just what I know I can eat. One woman at Oktoberfest asked me a half dozen times if I was sure I didn't want a pickle or potato salad or a roll. I finally told her I had surgery because she kept trying to feed me.
Most places have been good when I ask to skip the roll or fries or such. At my last place, I'd toss stuff outside for birds and such. Now I'd worry what shows up if I put any food out. I grew up poor in a family with a clean your plate mentality. It's hard to get over. Any insights from the conversation you had on how to save the planet?

People get upset sometimes when I say this:
Should I put this food into the garbage can now or put it in my mouth, let my body absorb the fat and calories and then deposit it to the sewer system in the morning?
I then put it in the garbage and skip sending it on a trip through my system and into the sewer.
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Composting is a great option, especially if you have flowers or gardens. Even your paper and ripped up boxes can go in there. If you dont want to compost, use your green bin (yard waste) for food waste....

Thanks! I do have a compost pile for yard waste...had just never added food to it since it's openly accessible. Will think about that!

If your compost pile is openly available to critters, you are cautioned to avoid adding fatty foods that would attract them. I usually just do veggies (that are too much for my indoor worm bin). The fatty items I add to the yard waste bin since it is covered and not easily accessible to animals.

Thanks for the feedback! That might be something to put on my project list down the line. Out here people burn everything. There's no green bin, and no recycling. I was lucky to have trash service, and they won't even come out to my house when it's been raining. :) pros and cons, I guess. Rain barrels are also high on my list.
