What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Good morning. I feel you on the plants. I'm trying very hard to keep one of plants that was a retirement present from being declared DOA. It's not going well. On the other hand, I got a lucky money plant from one of my customers. There is a lot of pressure with this one. Traditionally, you can only get a money plant as a gift and it's a good luck gift. For me, it's not my thing. It's very ethnic, in a fairly big elephant planter with gold coins, red ribbons and stuff hanging off it. But I'm scared if I kill it, all my money and all my luck will die with it. So I've been really careful and it seems to be thriving. Fingers crossed as I need my money for Uber in Costa Mesa for dinner night!
Yesterday's chair yoga class was really good. Yes, I could be the youngest, but still, a good mix of ladies. And today my ass and abs and killing me. With the class and the walk to and from, I got 80 straight minutes of exercise clocked. Couch to 80 in one day. Today is a bit busy, but I am going to try to get a walk in this afternoon just to stretch things out. And the weather has finally broken. Glory be! The windows are open and the AC is off for the first time in at least two weeks. Last night we went out to dinner and to see Chicago, the band, in concert. I am not going to lie. NOT having a drink was hard. Everyone was drinking and a few doing gummies, but I held my ground and had water. Dinner before was a little be bad on my food plan but not a lot bad. Today I try again.
QoTD: 11 schools in 12 years. You name it, I had to do it to get to school at some point.
Menu today:
B: 3 oz leftover crack chicken, 1-2 tablespoons cottage cheese
L: lunch date with Rog and friends today at a great local burger joint/dive bar. Will eat a quarter of Roger's huge burger and a few fries
D: Either a new recipe for a ham and chile cheese sandwich with tomato and sharp cheddar topper (it's actually more like a meatloaf, but that's the name of the recipe. It calls for no bread, but does have flour in mixture) with a small side salad or TJ's frenched pork chops with halloumi, tomatoes and red onion. It will be an audible come dinner time.
Peace Everybody!

QJB and Menu Friends,
Happy Hump Day. That meme. LOL! I am one of those who needs resilient plants because I forget to water them. My garden outside, I do water and take care of. No fertilizer, next year I will have the "fruits of my labor" with my compost bin to use.
QJB-it sounds like your nephew is remaining stable. Please keep us updated on his progress. Sending prayers your way.
I have decided that it is the layer of smoke from the surrounding forest fires that are making me lethargic. My lethargy started last Friday when the smoke rolled into the area. So really it has been only a few days but it is quite annoying. One of the things I liked about my weight loss is my increased energy level, rarely am I content to just do nothing. This smoke makes me feel tired. I did manage to get in a good yoga workout last evening despite feeling sluggish.
QOTD: K-6 me and sisters walked to school since it was only a couple of blocks aways, Junior high (7-9 grades) rode the bus as the school was on the opposite side of town, High School drove to school. Me and my sisters shared my mom's station wagon (where did those vehicles go-think 1980s station wagon with fake wood paneling).
B: tiple zero greek yogurt with collagen, blueberries, keto granola, cold brew with half n half
L: Asian chicken salad with light dressing
S: protein frosty
D: Summer salad with chicken, light poppy seed dressing
S: 100 cal bag popcorn, 4 squares sf chocolate
E: 60 minutes hot yoga.
Have a great day.
