Meh, it's not all it's cracked up to be! All girls school run by nuns, uniforms checked every day (length of the skirts, shirts buttoned up all the way). I still have nightmares about the nuns coming down the corridors in their black robes. Most were kind, but there were few who were mean. I loved it when they played on our teams: basketball, volleyball, dodgeball. Hilarious with their robes bunched up in their belts.

I made it 1 year in Catholic school and I was out. I had the meanest Nun ever. Sister Lois Jean. Ugh. My grandfather's sister was a nun. She was an alcoholic. I get my charm from the drunk Nun. LOL

Good Morning QJB and Menuers,

If my DH did not pay attention to my plants I would be in that same boat. Good news about the improvements in your nephew. So glad things are moving in the right direction.

Shelia I am trying to talk DH to make me a straw In white. I will be the Pina Colada. I'm not promising anything since my craft skills have me rely on DH for anything that takes craft skills. But if I can at least get a straw headband I should be good.

I still have a bunch of vegies ripening that I need to do something with. I used some jalapeños yesterday I filled them with peanut butter and wrapped them in bacon but they were not as good as I remember. Maybe because I used no sugar added peanut butter. I got another batch of ripe tomatoes wait to be made into sauce. I may try a crockpot version this time.

QOTD: I was a walker in all the schools I went to. I am not lying when I say they were all up hill. I also am not lying when I say my Dad drove me. He never would let me walk.

Accountability: Even though I was disappointed in the snake bites(stuffed Jalapenos with peanut butter) I probably ate to many.

I am jealous of your veggies. I dont know what is happening this year but everyone in my area is saying the the veggie gardens have been struggling. I was told to not plant a bunch of squash and zucchini plants becuase they would be coming out my ears. So far I have been able to pick one yellow squash, 2 jalapenos, maybe 10 tomatoes (cherry size)... The beans and peas seemed to do ok. Lots of raspberry and blackberries though.

So happy your toes didnt hurt today and you were able to get your workout in.

wish you were closer. I am tired of doing stuff with all the peppers and tomatoes. I already gave away a full crate of tomatoes. Between here my brothers and my mom's house we have 3 gardens. And everything comes ready at 1 time. Well except Zucchini that was done the beginning of August.

so true that everything is ready at the same time. When I went to the master gardening class in the spring, they suggested a staggered planting schedule of every 10 days. plant a row of a veggie, wait about 10 days then plant the next row. That way not everything comes in at once and when the first row has no veggies to be picked, the next row will so you are never out of fresh veggies. I did do this, it does seem to work. maybe next year will be better in the production. I will also have my compost ready for the spring planting so that may also help with the plant growth.
