I had to put my planned retirement off by a year because DH decided to leave his job, and it took 18 months for him to find a comparable one (he was planning on it taking only three months - ha!). I know his office environment was toxic and he probably should have left long before he did, but still, finding out just a few months before I was planning to retire that I wouldn't be able to until he was settled in a new job again was upsetting!!

I remember carrying books in JH for the same reason! In HS I did get a back pack, but wouldn't be caught dead using both straps as intended. One strap, one shoulder only!

It was so dumb! We made fun of the kids with the backpacks. Now every kid uses a backpack.

...and a lot of adults - specially at airports you can see people wearing backpacks as a "cabin" personal luggage.

Good morning JB and menuers,

JB - I hope today with your family goes well, and that your nephew continues to improve.

I woke up this morning to a sick dog, so my grand plans went out the window. I managed to clean everything up, get myself and the dogs in the car, and get them dropped off at the vet for teeth cleaning and daycare. Tonight is packing the car so I don't need to fuss about it tomorrow.

QOTD - Long bus ride for primary school. Got my mother to drop me off before work when I was in high school. It was at 6am and I'd just sit outside the school and wait for someone to come and unlock the doors. Bit of a different time then.

Food is a little up in the air since I couldn't prep/cook this morning as planned

Menu

Collagen, Planted protein plus fiber

Cafeteria egg and half a piece of sausage

Chicken and broccoli bake

String cheese

Something at my desk or maybe sautee some shrimp if I get home at a decent hour.

Cheers!

Yuck, having to clean up after a sick pet first thing in the morning is never a good way to start the day. I hope puppers feels better.

Thanks! He seems fine now, and old boy recovered and woke up from his procedure well. They're both eating and drinking. That's my north star for pups since it takes a lot for them not to. :)
