What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning. It's still hot and sticky here, but I think I felt a bit of coolness in the air this morning while out doing chores. Hurricane, Hurricane, please go away. And don't come back another day!
I'm fasting for annual bloodwork this morning. Have to go to a new location because I didn't think I could make it fasting until 1 pm at the location I normally go to. I'd be beyond hangry at that point.
This weekend was mostly couch surfing. I survived a super fun port and chocolate party. Yes I drank port, ate chocolate, a sliver of triple ginger cake, a bit of pumpkin cheesecake and bites of 3 different cheeses. But before I went, I spent the day making all good protein choices and made myself eat a decent dinner so I would not have much room in there. So bites of this and that -- but 4 - 5 hours at the party left plenty of time to sip on good wine and excellent port. Between that and Friday night wine and zero body movement, I am at an all time post surgery high. My own fault. Back on the diet wagon for me and I also plan to be alcohol free until Costa Mesa. Also, I am having a bit of surgery Thursday and no wine in the system helps with healing and scar reduction. Since it's the center of my chest, I'd like as little scar as possible.
Sheila -- now I need a red wine hat. Needed to go to Michael's anyway, so this could be fun.
QoTD: My absolute fall back is an HB egg and cottage cheese. But I also consider last night's leftovers a perfect breakfast. Except on Thursday that included bites of Cacio e Pepe, chicken marsala, risotto, shimp pasta with zucchini, and Osso bucco. I mean they were tiny bites of each, but still, I can't deny why the scale is moving.
Menu today
B: taking a Barebar with me so that I can feed myself when done with blood work. -- Have to go to the grocery store and starving Lisa is a bad mix with food options.
L: deli turkey and 1 slice of provolone
D: crack chicken and a bit of baked potato
Peace Everybody!

We went to Prager about 15 years ago and it was the most wine I have ever had at a tasting. They poured all of their wines and then all of the ports they make from those wines. It's a little dark place with dollar bills over the walls (looks like a dive bar not a vineyard) and we stumbled out of their into the light like a bunch of bats after our 13 glass tasting.
