Mornin' All!

Well I'm enrolled in all 10 credits now (auditing, luckily). Started my first (online) class yesterday. My UW-Milwaukee class appeared on my Canvas this morning, so I'll start that as well. My in person class here on the Madison campus starts today at 4:00 pm. I'll bike over since the weather is cooperative. Busy day today as I also have a luncheon and will be staffing a table. Those of us in the (social) organization who host interest groups have to go early so new members can come to our table if they want to discuss or sign up for our interest group (I host a documentary film discussion group). My group is already full, so not sure why they want me to host a table - although I have a long waiting list already and may get more interested people today. I was thinking earlier this summer that I may start a second group given the amount of interest, but with my class schedule this semester, plus already being in two film groups (mine and someone else's), plus a book discussion group, I don't know if I'll have time. We'll see...

my endocrinologist appt yesterday went OK. My osteoporosis is still severe, but stable. She wants me to take another "holiday year" this year (i.e., no Reclast infusions) and start up on a stronger drug next summer. It will involve giving myself daily injections, but I'm OK with that. She thinks it'll build up my bones enough so I can enter my senior years with a decent base. Then I can probably revert back to Reclast in a couple of years to keep them stable.

I biked 22 miles yesterday. Probably won't as much today since I have a lot going on - but if I bike to class (which I plan to), That's another six or so miles round trip. I can probably count it as a semi-rest day since I've done A LOT Of biking this week.

B: protein oatmeal topped with Greek yogurt and cooked, diced apples. Coffee with half & half

MS: if needed, a protein shake

L: I'm at the luncheon. I think I signed up for the chicken option since the veg option didn't sound all that appealing

AS: ?? maybe a protein bar or some frozen yogurt bark before class

D: the usual salad (power greens, chicken breast, diced peach, light dressing)

have a great day, everyone!

forgot the QOTD. I haven't done that since i was a kid. But when I WAS a kid, I used to write to celebrities to ask them for photos. I kept them all in a scrap book. I got one from Bill Bixby. He actually signed it himself - and i know he signed it because he addressed it to me specifically -- using my name

Is there any reason why you have to run both discussion groups if a second group is started? It seems that you can coordinate with someone else so other interested people have the opportunity to participate. As a leader, delegation is a great skill to have.

funny you should say that - as I've been hoping someone else will feel strongly enough about starting up a second group that they'll decide to start it off (and lead it). I may have to do some shoulder tapping. There's not much to leading it other than getting it off the ground and deciding on a meeting location. The group members select the movies - we rotate so a member only needs to pick the film of the month 1-2x a year (depending on how many members there are. More than ten and it gets to be a bit tough to have a good discussion)

I am amazed at how much you have on your plate and still do all of that bike riding. You are Wonder Woman for sure.

Good Morning! Friday-Eve! Today is my follow up with the dr to see what's next for my ankle. I know PT is in the future but he said we have to make sure it won't make it worse so I'm wondering if it'll be "ready". It still seems "angry" at the end of day.

QOTD: I never have, Em did when she was little (to the original group of the band she just saw) and they sent her a signed postcard. She was in 2nd grade and she of course still has the card.
