we're having our boosters (with the Omicron piece) on Friday. I'm not really afraid of dying (although I know there's always a chance...), but I AM afraid of long COVID - much greater chance of that....

G'morning all!

Great long weekend on the coast. You know I always complain about no sun and constant fog? This weekend mother nature was kind to the tourists. Sun all three days and temps in the low 80s. The resort across the street was packed, and for some reason people were shooting fireworks; very annoying for the neighborhood dogs. We went to a couple of beach parties, I offered to bring fruit (strawberries from a local farm and watermelon) so I did good food wise. Mostly burgers (no bun) and fruit.

QOTD: I learned the new/correct way to put the garbage bag in from tiktok. I also learned I can use white vinegar instead of softener in the washing machine.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee + barebells bar
  • Cheese burger (no buns) with pickles
  • Strawberries, cucumber, watermelon
  • Hb eggs + tuna pouch
  • E: neighborhood uphill walk (5 miles)

Happy Taco Tue.

There is a bottle of white vinegar in the drawer where I keep laundry supplies. Can't remember why but think I saw hint to use instead of fabric softener then forgot about it and still using fabric softener.

Good Morning!

Oh, I remember the discussion posts from my MSN program. Some of the posts were interesting. Other times it seems that everyone had the same perspective on a subject. Because you were required to respond to a minimum of 2 other students posts it could become a bit tedious since it can be hard to come up with a new narrative plus include supporting evidence...

My long weekend was pretty relaxing in that I didnt do a whole lot. We did see Where the Crawdads Sing. It was agood movie, but having recently read the boo****pt comparing it to the book. I think that the movie made it more like 2 love stories vs. a story of an abandoned child learning to survive on her own. The acting was good. They kept pretty close to the overall story line with some slight variations so that they could tell the story through visual art. Other than that went shopping with DS and DH to get DS some school shirts. Very frustrating shopping with DS. It seems like he somewhat knows what he wants but when you get to the store, he has zero input, doesnt like anything, etc. Finally, we went to the Vans store and found some shirts.

QOTD: I am sure I have some life hacks but cant think of anything other than I prepare work meals ahead of time for the week.

B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, keto granola, blueberries, cold brew with half n half

L: Summer salad with chicken, light poppy seed dressing

S: protein frosty

D: Asian chicken salad with sesame ginger dressing

S: Yogurt based frosty, 4 squares sf chocolate

E: 60 min hot power yoga

Good morning. Home from Arizona 3 days earlier than planned. We made it to Dad's on Friday afternoon. Just when I finished cooking dinner (thank goodness!) there was an EPIC monsoon. The power went out and we sat in the dark with lanterns lit and ate by that ligh****ching the storm gods do their thing. It was like a Batman TV show in the sixties. Boom! Pow! Bam! Bang! Kapow! I loved it! But then the power stayed out for 36 hours and my Dad's house is completely electric. So on Saturday we got him set up in his RV with propane AC and cook stove and Rog and I took off for our friend's house in Phoenix. We were supposed to stay there until Wednesday, but he got called to a meeting in San Diego of all places. Yesterday we caravanned home and then got the grand kids and took them swimming at his hotel. Cause, people, it is hot as blazes here in San Diego!

I tried to eat well, and I cooked most of our meals while we were gone to support that, but I definitely drank too much wine at the impromptu monsoon party and during the epic games of Phase 10 during the weekend. I haven't much food in this house, but I'm getting back in the saddle today.

QoTD: I prep things for ease in creating meals. Like I will caramelize a huge pot of onions and then freeze them in individual little haystacks. Once frozen, they all go in a freezer bag and I can grab one or two stacks to add to omelets or put on a hamburger. And I definitely used Jim's I bond suggestion.

Menu??

B: hb egg and cottage cheese

L: left over Chipotles chicken bowl. I did no rice, all black beans so it's not too bad calorie wise

D: TBD I have to go to Costco to fill my starving car with gas and maybe I'll get a bulgogi or stuffed peppers

Peace Everybody!
