Mornin' All!

Today is a new day. The shortbread I made for a dinner over the weekend is gone, the small Tupperware-ful of Christmas cookies from last year's Christmas is back in the basement freezer...where it will stay. Not eating them. I can pull them out again for a special occasional only. There!! Nothing "bad" in my house right now - or at any rate, nothing that's easily accessible. I made some frozen "yogurt bark" the other day that'll do in a pinch if I start to lose control again - plus SF popsicles. Back to it! (at least I took a 25-mile bike ride yesterday - but I still blew it food-wise...cripes!!!)

I'll probably bike later this morning (the weather should be great for it this week - and the season will be over soon. I need to get in as much as I can!!). Mah Jongg at 1:30 and an endocrinologist appt at 3:30. She'll review my recent bone scan and decide whether I should continue with another 3-year cycle of Reclast infusions or start up on a stronger drug (I have osteoporosis). Other than that, nothing planned...

QOTD: I'll have to come back to this - I can't think of anything at the moment

B: plain skyr with strawberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: pumpkin protein shake (may switch this 'til this afternoon)

L: protein oatmeal topped with plain Greek yogurt and diced, cooked 1/2 apple (hoping the extra fiber will hold me over for most of the afternoon!)

AS: protein muffin (if needed)

D: probably the last of the recent salad (power greens topped with chicken, diced peach, and light dressing - I'm really going to miss peach season!!!!)

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning ~ Glad to hear MBA is so far so good and interesting. I have some accounting units to earn for a promotion in a couple years. I messed that up this semester by registering too late and missing the online class I wanted included the maxed out waitlist. So, I signed up for the in person but was going to miss to many classes (travel) to pass so I had to drop. Trying to figure out another way to do this besides waiting until next semester and pouncing for my class.

Today I have a staff meeting with a long agenda. My boss will be joining us at some point to announce my unit move and their new boss. I have gone over this in my mind so many times. The 'oh no, you can't leave - we love you' to the 'bye Felicia' responses. It will be interesting. I'm excited and getting more so by the day. My new office will be in a high traffic area - weren't we just talking about this last week? I'm going from my beloved dark quiet dungeon in the back to the main hallway with paper thin walls and doors. I'm going to have to develop the focus super power! Noise machine, fan and headphones will help.

I finished the Institute - great book. Watched House of Dragon - I love how fast is moves. Ring of Power is good too - that will take time to finish. Now what? Anyone interested in Steven Kings new book (comes out today) Fairy Tail? I have an audible credit I may use for that. I have library holds on the Paris Apartment and It ends with us.

QOTD - life hacks - your coffee cubes reminded me of the wine cubes I made the other day. In this heat cold wine last only a few minutes. They are a pain to make though. I should get some of those re-freezable cubes.

Accountability - no

b-coffee, yogurt and granola

l- tuna salad on chopped lettuce

d-turkey tacos (dare I use the stove in this heat)

e- loser - It's been ridiculously hot and doesn't cool off at night. No AC were we are - its rare to ever need it. Miserable.

Have a great day!

I love my re-freezable cubes, it doesn't dilute the wine. I bought them when I was in Hawaii because it got so warm so fast there. I just found them and popped them in the freezer, so I can use them again.

I listened to the Institute and really liked it. I watched Misery years and years ago (Kathy Bates starred in it) but only remembered the basics. I am currently listening to that on audible, very good also. I dont really keep track of Steven King new books so didnt realize he had something new coming out. I recommend an older book of his called Mr Mercedes, I believe they also made it into a movie on one of the streaming services.

I am currently reading The Paris Apartment, just started but it had me hooked from the beginning.
