LOL, this is the best insult.

Morning! Today is my last day off before school starts tomorrow! Eeee! I have a million and a half things to get done today.

QOTD: Does your area have a funny unique "holiday" or special day? Today is known as "Allston Christmas" around the Boston area. Allston is a neighborhood in Boston that has about a billion college students. On Sept 1st all of the one year leases turn over and everyone swaps houses. It's nuts--thousands of UHauls blocking lanes and the worst traffic you've ever seen. They call it "Allston Christmas" because everyone leaves old furniture and boxes of crap all over the streets and you can come and take any old crappy thing you want.

B: Fit Frappe & Egg Whites with Feta and Ham

L: Fish Taco insides

D: Veggie Burger with Tzatziki and Cukes

Exercise: Quick jog on the treadmill.

Good morning!

Hope you enjoy your last day off! Sounds like you have quite the program coming up!

QOTD - not sure. I live in the middle of nowhere and don't keep up with social media, so if there's some special ritual, I'm oblivious to it so far!

Last night was fun. I got reflux for the first time in years. I hope it doesn't become a regular thing, especially since I'm on an acid blocker already! Office day today with a half day team working session. Sometimes I wonder when I'm supposed to get the work done around the meetings!

Exercise - elliptical (completed!)

Menu

Planted protein shake after exercise

Hard boiled egg, two plant protein sausage links

can of albacore tuna mixed with a bit of nonfat Greek yogurt and mustard

Roasted seaweed

Four ounces of shrimp cooked some way

Cheers, everyone!

Keep an eye on that reflux and try to get it under control now! Mine is left over "gift" from the LapBand and it's just awful.

I did not know reflux would stay after the band was removed. I get it sometimes and it is awful.

Thanks for the call out! I didn't know it might stay. After waking me last night I spent some time researching it. I eat spicy mustard and hot sauce, which seem to be potential triggers...but I also have been for weeks.

The two new things since surgery were the fajita chicken packet and the veggie sausages. Stomach is still unhappy/gassy/wonky today so I might take a break from eating and do a protein shake day to reset. I did have two more veggie sausages today. Would love for this reflux not to become a habit. Was there anything you did to improve yours?

RNY is suppose to "fix" reflux. However, I still need to take a PPI (omeprazole) since I developed a hiatal hernia post-op. Oh well, I was able to get rid of most of my medications so I wont complain.

Ooh, I looked up hiatus hernias. That doesn't sound fun at all!

We're on the same medication! The prescription dose from the doctor is stronger than anything I saw OTC, so hopefully it will do its job. Think mine is 40mg or something. How strong is yours?

I've heard of people being revised to RNY to stop the reflux from a sleeve. Phew. Hope it doesn't stick around.

20mg Omeprazole. OTC. I sometimes use Nexium (generic not brand) if it is on sale.

Good mornin everyone.

Well I didn't get my eye fixed yesterday...it'll be on the 13th. I so don't like this doctor.

I've had a rather crappy night/morning. I woke up at two in immense pain and severe itchiness on my back and hands. A few hours later I tried to go back to sleep and my cat, Percy, jumped on me instead of the bed. Landed on my sorest leg. Scratched the bottom of my foot and left puncture marks on the inside of the thigh. I cried...not even sure why. Just was the fly on top of a crap pile lol. I'm feeling a bit better right now but still exhausted.

Not sure what today'll hold. A trip for groceries for sure. Other than that...who knows.

QOTD: ummm...I think all we have is the tri state fair and rodeo. Oh wait, there is a bob wills days near here, XIT rodeo, range riders rodeo, the American quarter horse association is based here and they have a day of the cowboy. Basically lots of rodeos. Shamrock, Texas is close to here and they have a huge st.Patrick's day celebration. The farm and ranch shows might as well be a holiday here...LOL

B: JUST egg cup + coffee

L: ???

D: I might buy a small steak today...either that or tilapia. Both sound good.

S: jerky strip, cheese stick and nuts.

oh I forgot to mention Medicaid probably won't cover Ozempic...even though it's on their formulary list. My doctors office is fighting for it. Should find out late today or tomorrow.

have a good one everybody!

Ha, being from Boston where every single person I know can tell you the village in Ireland their family came from... I just never pictures TX with a big St Paddy's day celebration!
