What's on your Monday Menu?
It was just a bad cheese, Amy. So disappointing.

Mornin' All!
this will be kind of light week, so I'm happy for that. Right now I'm waiting to see if I'm approved to register for any of the classes I requested. I'm hoping this comes through fast since I can't schedule a few things until I know what my class schedule is going to be like this fall.
The weekend was fun although I'm feeling really fat and bloated. I think it's mostly water retention and lack of exercise since I didn't eat THAT much. I'll watch my salt today, drink lots of fluids, and stop by the gym while en route to my 10:00 am meeting. Hopefully that will help. I'm having lunch with my mother at her independent living place, then I have to take her shopping. Knowing her, she'll want to be out all afternoon. Not looking forward to this (I hate shopping and would rather be home), but once it's over, she should be set for the week - I hope.
QOTD: it'd be a pet thing for sure. The first thing that comes to mind is my cat Minik who does all kinds of things to let us know that he wants to eat - such as knock things off tables and counters or chew on things such window shades (!), bags or boxes of things that were left on the counter (bags of dried fruit (or whatever), plastic food containers, etc)
B: plain Greek yogurt with blueberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: I'll take a protein shake and a thermos of coffee to my meeting - and hope that the host doesn't bring treats. Maybe I should bring a Keto bar, too, just in case she does...
L: some kind of sandwich
AS: protein muffin?
D: salad (power greens, chicken breast, peach, light dressing)
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning all and Happy Monday,
The weekend was packed and enjoyable. I had a really good time Friday night with my new friend and we had Thai food. Saturday, I went to River North to celebrate my good friend's birthday. We ate al fresco in the middle of the street; the city closes the street every weekend for outdoor dining. There was a constant stream of Saturday night club goers passing by, just starting their night. I can't believe what some of these girls were wearing.
QOTD - Quirkiest thing was a college roommate who had OCD. He was constantly adjusting items in the room almost every minute of the day. He would be extremely passive aggressive the entire semester we lived together.
Accountability: Not a great weekend for eating. Family style meal Saturday night: roll with olive oil, one stuffed mushroom, couple forkfuls of pasta in shrimp scampi, and a taste of cheesecake . Friday night: one duck wonton and noodles in Pad Kee Mao. I am happy that I limited myself cause everything was delicious.
B: Dannon Light and Fit Coconut, Tangerine.
L: PP shake.
D: low sodium turkey & cheese roll up.
HW: 371 SW(8/9/21): 324 CW: 215. 0 lbs til goal of skin reduction surgery. I'm still looking for a new plastic surgeon.

Matt, I had a similar reaction to the outfits on the club kids Thursday night.

G'morning all!
Had a great Saturday hiking. Can I brag about the stats?
Steps: 38,934
elevation: 3,925 feet
time: 5:47 active, 8 hours total
distance: 15.03 miles.
The difference of vegetation from the bottom to the top was astounding. We started with thick fog that felt like rain, on top it was bright, sunny and hot. I need a couple of days to recoup; I was fine during the hike but once we got back to the car and on the way we stopped to eat, I had a hard time getting out of the car and I was hobbling. Here are a few pics, I promise not to post any pics for a couple of weeks.
QOTD: Luna acts like the second wife. If in the middle of the night I get up to go to the bathroom she goes on my side and puts her head on my pillow. When I come back she looks at me like "oh, you were planning on coming back? Darn, now I need to get up and move?"
My meals yesterday :
- Coffee & barebells bar
- Cold cuts and cheese
- Grilled Skirt stake and asparagus
- E: Rest day
Happy start of the week!

Gorgeous photos! I'm not anywhere near ready for 15 miles, but that scenery would definitely make it worth all the work!

I always love your pictures, Sheila. That first one has kind of a Blair Witch Project feel to it though.

Congrats on the hike and crossing one more off your list! No small feat. The elevation can have such a huge impact on...everything! Beautiful pictures.
