Good Morning! It is a perfect San Diego morning. A little breeze, sunshine and clear skies. It was delightful to be outside for "puppy physical therapy", which is currently up to 11 laps around the outside of our house, twice a day. Poor guy is totally going bonkers with the constant restriction of movement and when I have to leave him for even an hour, the neighbors say he is barking and baying constantly. So one of my to do's today is to pick up his prescription of puppy Xanax. Brown dog is about to get a little bit happier.

Tomorrow we are taking the kids and grandkids to see the traveling Broadway production of Lion King. I've seen it once before and the beginning was so beautiful I instantly started crying. I'm hoping that tomorrow's version lives up to that memory. The kids have seen the movie a million times, but this is their first Broadway level play. And then we have reservations at the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Nothing there is carb free. So I am going to indulge in their "Homer's" plate and keep the quantity to a minimum. That means pasta, browned butter and mizithra cheese. Pure decadence. Sunday we are going to a back yard party at the friend's home that we had to travel to Bulgaria to meet. So fun.

QoTD: Kitchen stuff. I've got my eye on a new Le Creuset pan --now I need to justify the expense somehow. I'm working on it.

Food:

B: leftover meatloaf slice and tomatoes

L: leftover meatballs from last night and one stuffed artichoke bottom. These were insanely good last night, but I did a great job of just having small bites and lots of water.

D: jalepeno apple sausage and salad for me, and I'm making Rog a small Quattro Formaggi pizza to use up ingredients.

Here's my brown dog. Isn't he looking great!!

Peace Everybody!

Its a Fantastic Friday!

I gave a snort of laughter at the meme. QJB, your cookie pictures are awesome. You are so talented. Are you still making your own cookie cutters?

This weekend is DS 18th birthday on Saturday. I have been trying to get him to pick what he wants to do to celebrate. He said that he is at an age that he doesnt get super excited about celebrating his bday. He did pick a movie he wanted to see (The Invitation). We will go to the matinee to see that. Current plan is out for breakfast, a movie, out for dinner, cake. I need to make his cake today. There is a cake his friend's mother makes that he has requested the last 2 years. It is rather tasty and moist. Sunday my plan is Inferno Pilates, Vin/Yin yoga after, then hope to kayak.

QOTD: Clothes. It is so fun to buy new clothes now that I am smaller. However, I dont have an over abundance at this time.

Accountability: Good

B: triple zero greek yogurt with collagen, keto granola, strawberries, cold brew with half n half

L: Summer salad with chicken, light poppy seed dressing

S: protein frosty

D: Asian chicken salad with light sesame ginger dressing

S: 100 cal popcorn, 4 squares sf chocolate

E: 60 min Hot power yoga

Pictures are of 1) grapes from my garden-the first my vine has produced. Super flavorful.

2) Me with my best friend from junior and high school (in middle next to me) from last weeks concert at the winery.

3) Josie my Rottie snuggled on the chair.

Have a great weekend.

Nice pictures! Your grapes look amazing! How do you keep the deer away, if they're a thing where you live? They got my grapes this year.

We do have deer, but our yard has a 6-foot fence around our backyard. Luckily all my veggies and fruit plants are protected from them!

G'morning all!

If I told you that exact bumper sticker saved my life, would you believe me? On a trip to US when I was 18-19 I went on a shopping spree and bought a ton of bumper stickers. We didn't have them back in Italy, I was a newly minted driver (we get our license when we turn 18), and I wanted to put them on my car. Now looking back, it was ridiculous. My little red fiat panda car was covered in stickers, but I was the only one in town with these bumper stickers. So when one night I had a solo car accident and the car caught on fire, the only reason a car passing by stopped to pull me out was when he saw the stickers and realized it was me, his sister's friend. So I always smile when I see bumper stickers.

Plans for the weekend: hike on Mt Tamalpais (about 15 miles) to celebrate our 28th anniversary and check off the 4th peak of our 6 peak challenge. I'm sure I'll have pics to share on Mon from the hike.

QOTD: Crafts, yarn, clothes, shoes, sf syrups! In short everything.

Promise, last pics from costa rica. These are from our tour of the rain forest.

My meals yesterday :

  • Coffee
  • Mex cauli rice + ground turkey
  • Jello, quest bar
