I think I would like a management position if not for the people you have to manage . Some adults dont know how to act like adults with each other or take their job seriously. I just have a low tolerance for that.

Haha, so much this! Seems to be the case that once you get two or more people on a team...someone is going to have issues with someone else.

Agree! Being in management can be a hassle. And a good team includes all kinds of people. I've been on teams of climbers and it can get unbearable quickly. Just such a strange thing that people think everyone should want to move up all the time.

The only time I have ever had a conversation with my boss/owner is if I **** someone off. I remember going years with never speaking to him. I work straight commission so as long as I am making a decent paycheck I guess it doesn't not matter. But that also means I have no input on things that can effect my pay. Definitely a double edged sword.

I am always impressed with your hustle; 20+ years on straight commission, you work for it!!

I had some toxic managers in my career. My philosophy was "I was here before you came and I will be here when you are gone". I also had some that were great mentors and am sorry that you are stuck with the one you have.

Wow, that's amazing! Years ago I would always assume that the less I saw my boss, the better things were going. If they ever showed up, it was only because of a problem- so that tracks!

And wow! Straight commission! That makes my inner introvert cringe. Congrats on making it happen!
